She supported what her sa allegedly said by pointing to prices in Spain currently but she failed to realize that those prices included vat so in actuality they’re the same as the us. She also said something about inventory being done in 2-3 weeks and then sas being told about increases afterward. Well if that’s the case how does her sa even know there’s an increase now? I’m guessing her sa said there’s a possibility but she took that info and ran with it as an actual increase. Her ig page doesn’t stand out as someone who would have inside info on increases. Also going from 6900 to 8k is a really significant increase. and richemont reported huge increases in sales last year. There may be an increase but doubtful it will be significant.

yes i do agree that from usd $6900 to $8k is a huge jump. The last increase in SG for the regular love bracelet is around sgd$450 if I didn’t remember wrongly.

I totally agree with this. I would like to add a few things. We should try to avoid playing into the hype. We know nothing for sure and neither do half of the people claiming to have “intel.” A lot of it is just chatter. I expect the love to increase to maybe 7,400 or 7,500 USD but 8,000 is absurd IMO.

Thankfully, I’m very intentional about my purchases but I feel like price increases + hype causes a lot of people to pull the trigger before they’re ready and in some cases can even put people in debt or financial hardship over fear of “missing out.” Yes that’s a personal problem and yes people need to know their limits and have self control but I’m just not sure that it’s a healthy culture. This is why I stopped buying Chanel. I didn’t support what they were doing and I “voted” with my wallet. It’s a great marketing strategy for them but it’s not so great for the consumer. I can bring my dollar elsewhere and still get a quality product. If this continues with Cartier, I might do the same. Sometimes less is more.

Hello all! I also worried about the increase. As of now, my SA hasn’t heard anything… but maybe if you have the relationship with them, they can order for you for a product to come in and that way it comes with your name on it at arrival and you can purchase if you love.
I went ahead and purchased my love with diamonds and reg juc w/diamonds about 2 weeks ago and I don’t regret it AT ALL!!!

ps. Someone stated just like chanel and any other fashion house. That is so true! Price wise, chanel is almost as expensive as cartier depending on the items, and they have done several increases in the past few months. So I would rather be safe than sorry and purchase while you can.

I totally agree with you! If you can not afford it, wait until you can. And if you feel it’s just gotten out of control with the increase, maybe there is something else that you love instead. I did that. I went years thinking of the bracelets I wanted and just kept thinking nope not paying it. But I kept wanting so I finally purchased. Of course I kicked myself because I felt like I could have already gotten them when I wanted them and not paid as much… but the other side of me was like time and money was a factor back then also. I wish I could have paid less, but at least at this point in life it doesn’t break my finances.

I agree with this. I did the same with Chanel, and even LV, where some of my canvas pieces are worth three times as much as when I got them without quality improvements. With Cartier I will finish getting my current wishlist and will stop purchasing, as the increases are beyond what I can justify spending. The great thing about jewelry is that it will be with me for a long time, so hopefully I wont need to replace these items.

Yes, and because you waited you were probably more intentional about your luxury purchases. There’s nothing worse than splurging thousands of dollars to feel like a piece is just OK or not practical for your lifestyle. That’s how some things end up sitting in our closets or jewelry boxes for years collecting dust. They seemed like a good idea at the time. I always wait at least six months before I pull the trigger because that way I know that I really “love” it and it wasn’t a spur of the moment purchase or a trendy item on social media that was just having a “moment.”

I’ve learned to appreciate that less is more and you can admire an item on another person from afar, acknowledging that it looks great on them, but also acknowledging that it isn’t practical or suitable for you. I do that all the time with VCA. I admire pieces that are gorgeous but simply not practical for my lifestyle.

I stopped buying LV because I feel like their quality has gone down significantly in recent years while the prices have gone up. I have LV pieces from twenty years ago that still look great while my latest purchase from them two years ago started to tarnish and have other quality issues not even six months after owning it with minimal wear.

I will say, I bought my first Love bracelet last May. I held off for a very long time but received it as a mother’s day gift. I do think it’s worth what we paid for it at the time (6,400) because I had it engraved with my daughters name and I’ve worn it everyday since. I think when considering cost per wear and the fact that it’s a low maintenance piece that you don’t remove it’s a good purchase. For me it’s a “forever” piece.

i do have the funds to get the item but just that it seems a bit too much to be getting one item per month? Moreover i am planning to get a vca necklace before the next price increase in mar-may too:wtf: maybe i should toss a coin to decide. Lol

I get you. Im in the same boat. Its not that we dont have the funds. Its just that in my case, I tend to plan my purchases and avoid getting everything all at once. These price increases hype-ing us to get everything all in one go.:confused1:

I so agree with all of this! I have stopped buying handbags all together for the same reason. I also purchased my love recently and I decided my bracelet would last longer than these bags.

yes it is hard when wanting so many great investment pieces. I say, really think about the one you love and go from there…. The coin toss may lead you in the wrong direction lol

yes! Totally agree. Also, these kind of shopping is kinda addictive. Must practise some form of discipline otherwise one might end up buying more often than as planned :wtf:
