No, there are no tax effects here. The main warehouse is in Switzerland anyhow. The GBP advanced about 5 % compared to 2020 so this is a normal reaction for Cartier go get its prices in-line. That the price of Gold collapsed benefits Cartier but not us as customers.
Thanks. That's interesting about the main warehouse being in Switzerland as all the online Cartier goods that I've ordered that have been sent to the UK clearly have stated on them that they have come from Amsterdam. I've also ordered items on the telephone from Cartier and was told that their online items to the UK come from their Amsterdam warehouse which serves Northern European countries.

Interesting, the Van Cleef items come from the Netherlands too.

The EU main depot is in Amsterdam, yes. But they don't carry everything. It happened to me that they needed to get it from Switzerland. As the UK left the EU there is no benefit for Cartier to route through Amsterdam and go through customs twice as often. However, I lack detailed information just combining what I know.

Thanks. I agree, makes no sense at all for Cartier to do that.

At least there is some hope for you (1 year USD / CAD)
I’m very happy about that. :) When I was browsing online between Cartier Canada and US, I noticed that Cdn prices aren’t too much higher than if I were to buy these items in the US and pay the CC F/X fee. I noticed though that the price discrepancy is huge between Tiffany Canada and US. So I won’t feel too bad that I can’t travel right now and support my local C boutique.

Oh wow, there’s a price decrease in Canada as well. I thought I’d double checked screen shots I took in Jan/Feb this year. The JuC YG with 3 rows diamonds price has dropped from C$13,400 to C$12,000. That’s a huge saving! One can buy a JuC with D ring and just about another plain JuC ring with this drop. I think it may be on par with the F/X decrease between Canada & US. I remembered one SA mentioned to me a long time ago that Cartier tries to keep their global prices relatively the same so people don’t find one country that much cheaper than another. I found buying in Canada to be about a few hundreds $ more than buying in the US but it’s also because we have 13% sales tax.

Btw, in looking at the screenshots of the Love rings, only the WG Ceramic pave diamonds decreased from C$14,800 to $13,300. So I’m not sure if this is more of a strategic pricing to move certain models since it doesn’t seem to be across the board.
