Hi everyone,

I've recently purchased a love bracelet, first regular, but wasn't satisfied with the fit and exchanged it for small with diamonds. After wearing it for a month I feel like I made a mistake with the size and should have gotten one size up. I called the boutique to check what the options were and wanted to share here, since I haven't seen this information anywhere on the forum.
1. Love bracelets cannot be resized, no matter plain or with diamonds. All of you probably already knew, this part, so stating it here for newcomers to the love line.
2. The second point is the interesting option that I didn't know about! Cartier can take your bracelet and make you a completely new bracelet in a different size for 60% of the price.
I know it's not ideal, but I'm really glad this option exists. I'm not sure I feel comfortable dealing with selling such an expensive item on Poshmark and other resellers charge such a high commission that 60% might not be bad. [Please do tell me if you know where to safely resell without high commission.]
I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet, but wanted to share here in case someone is in the same situation wanting to resize.

Thanks for sharing and this is indeed interesting.

for the second part : do they accept a really old piece, say a ten year old beat-up Love, and then replace with a brand new size of your choice? Do you need to return the full set of the old piece?
I reckon the 60% is based on current price.

lastly, does this apply to all Cartier jewellery or just Love? Curious to know and may be helpful to those who are facing sizing issues.

It does apply to all jewelry, reproduction could be for re-sizing purposes or if your item is really beaten up.
You are right, the percentage is based on current retail.
I am not sure about what you should give in, but I know the new one you get will have the same serial code so I believe you keep the paperwork.

Oh so they engrave the same serial code on the new piece. Interesting surely!

Yes, they gave an example of somebody who inherited a piece that didn't fit. It can be a 30 year old piece, they'll take it and create a completely new one in the size you need.

They make a new one because it will have the same serial code of yours

Interesting! I didn't ask about serial number. I asked why to make a new bracelet and not just get the one they have in stock and her response was something like they want you to have a completely new piece. It didn't make much sense to me. Now if they keep your original serial number, that make sense!

Thank you for sharing this information. I just contacted my SA and inquired about this, but she said she never heard of it. I’m not sure Cartier is widely advertised this. Which Cartier did you go to? I saw few comments on YouTube, some days their SA said there is 60% buy back, some says their SA never heard of it.

I called Cartier customer service (the phone on their website). I don't think they offer buyback. The option that was offered was that I return my bracelet and pay 60% of the new bracelet to have them create a completely new bracelet for me on the right size. The lady mentioned that this option is often used for pieces that were inherited and don't fit.
Also, Cartier offers free resizing once per item for the pieces that can be resized, unfortunately love bracelets cannot. This service is also indicated on their website.

I hope that all the Cartier boutique aware of this policy. I’m not planning to exchange my love bracelet any time soon but hoping when I have to exchange to different size or my daughter inherited from me, Cartier would allow this option

I think you don't need to worry about it, I'm sure it's a brand policy and not a boutique decision. You could call customer service and inquire about it just to have the peace of mind if that's something that's bugging you. I was definitely very relieved when I learnt about it, it's just good to know that I have this option.
