Cartier Earrings Thread

I recently got the small trinity earrings from Cartier as a Christmas gift and have worn it since then 24/7.
While purchasing, the SA showed us the ear plug they have. She told us that I need to push those two "ears" on the plug in order to move them. However I noticed that the ear plug does move without me pressing the two "ear mechanism" - anyone else noticed that? I also got a pair of DLDC earrings for my mom, which has the same ear plug with the same mechanism, and she also noticed that hers move without pressing. Is this normal? I am a bit afraid of loosing them like this...

Yes, this is normal for it to move up and down without pressing the two sides ONLY once it has passed that one ‘stationary’ area ( my own words because I don’t know what you call it). This allows you to push the backs of the earrings forward or back.

However, the earring backs will NEVER fall off as it can’t go pass that stationary area as you MUST press the two sides in order to go pass that area.

I hope that makes sense.

Makes sense! I was concerned about the "stationary" area not being secure enough :)

Thanks for this useful info! This is good to know while I wait for a pair of Trinity earrings that my SA is ordering for me. I was under the wrong impression that these La Pousette backings shouldn't move at all.

Do you mean on my ear or just pics of them?

Here are the pics that I have on my phone of them.

They are angled so that they show best on each ear - essentially there’s a left and right earring.

There’s also a thread talking about them somewhere (if I can find it, I will link it).

How do you know which earring to wear on which side? I have the pair as a hand me down but I don’t know how to wear it properly! Thank you

Wear them with each side angled inward toward your face (if that makes sense).

Let me know if you don’t understand.

There’s a thread on the forum regarding them as well, and I can find it and link it if I find it.

i’m still having a hard time figuring it out. I just want to be sure I’m wearing it right! Should the hoop be angled inward or the post? Can you post a pic or link to the thread?

Do you know the posts can be lengthened? I have thick earloops and had the same issue like you when I tried it in the store. I lengthened by 0.3mm , at the same time they helped to loosen the back clippings (if this make sense). They are perfect now! No more headache, no pinching. It’s very comfortable to wear.

These earrings are Low key yet substantial. Great for work/formal and causal. And this style can last me till I get old. Love it
Thank you for the help @oceanz22 ! My love hoops were sent to NY where they lengthened the posts. So much better! No more pinching.
