Not sure if you have the quartz or automatic. FYI, I got the battery changed at Cartier boutique at SPC last month and it was only $65.

I LOVE the Ballon Bleu! It's my dream watch 
Even though thr J12 is a gorgeous watch, I think any Cartier watch is more classic and timeless.

Not really. They only changed the battery and cleaned the watch. No polish or anything else.
I love Cartier watches! DH bought one for me 4 years ago and IRS still running just great!! I hope to find a Cartier boutique nearby if I need to have battery and maintaince done in the near future 
It really depends on your personal style. I've wanted a black J12 w/ diamond markers for years, but held off because I thought it was a trend. I have some lovely watches (Chopard, IWC, etc.), but finally bought the J12. I've been wearing it everyday since I purchased it and have had more compliments on it than on any of my other watches. It's very comfortable and I don't worry about it getting wet or scratched. I prefer automatic watches so I bought the 38mm automatic.
That is a very expensive battery for $65, but I guess it is better to have Cartier replace since it is such a nice watch.
