Mini is only big enough to hold an iPad mini/Kindle. For me backpack is comfortable enough, definitely more so when the straps are shortened. I find when its worn slight longer it protrudes outward awkwardly.
Medium size has a larger surface and wider straps so it probably provides a way better backpack experience.

I do love it. But it will just have to be put onto the wishlist. Funds wont allow for any purchases at the minute. Just booked a holiday to Mexico for April

I wish I had a chance at the medium lion rivet but it was too popular (and also even more pricy... Lion rivet was so pricy as is...) Excited for your potential medium purchase =)

I only randomly stumbled on the mini in Toronto too, had to impulse splurge... It was very impulse.
Have you narrowed down your options? The quilted mediums are also adorable!
