It sounds ridiculous even to me , but l guess it’s because the box plume was a serendipitous find…and one which l didn’t have to spend/prespend a fortune on, so it shouldn’t be my favourite.. oh sounds so ridiculous but ykwim.
Would really like to see your collection @periogirl28! Must be super amazing

I totally know what you mean. If I ever decide to downsize to a capsule collection, my very ridiculously low priced 1981 Bleu Marine Sellier Box Kelly 28 will definitely be in that selection. It was like USD3k >10 years ago.

Formal day bag : Kelly 32 sellier. (Ostrich, Box, Croc etc...) (35 and 28 work as well)

Afternoon events : Kelly 28 sellier (box leather) (25 works as well)

Night : Mini Kelly. 20 or Mini Mini Kelly 15 ( any leather looks perfect)

Hermes clutches do not work for me for evening, I much prefer wearing my Jersey Chanel with the chains hidden inside.... or nothing.

This is nearly 10 years old so interesting to see how things have evolved. Right now, the trend seems to be about acquisition but love this old post about a Kelly dominated universe. Hopefully we will still be posting in 10 years time and see how our handbag and fashion sense will evolve.
Meanwhile Would love to know from those of you who have Kelly collections 32, 28 & 25’s And minis what sort of occasions you use them for. I try to follow @papertiger s rule about ‘the Longer the dress the smaller the Kelly’ (LOL) but very interested to read about other life events you attend and the size of your Kelly.

Ideal Hermes capsule collection: I’ve been thinking, and if I had to make it, I could probably get by with a 9 bag capsule collection.

Travel bag - must look good with jeans or a dress, can carry my usual miscellaneous plus a book and kindle - vintage Brown Box Kelly.

Summer bag - playful, lighter. Comfortable to carry. Close to the body, does not need to go over a coat. Barenia-toile Trim II

Playful bag - for a day on the water, or going shopping - something with a fun shape and light hardware. Currently have a navy box Penelope.

Ladies who lunch/Funeral bag - black non-exotic structured bag. Luxurious enough to show respect for the occasion, but subdued enough to not take attention away from the occasion. Have not filled this one, but I keep looking at a Piano or Sac Ring or that ilk in black box. Sadly, everything I’ve found has been brown box.

For days when you just can’t take one more irritation - Easy to carry shoulder/crossbody bag in a well loved color. Currently have an BV that fills this slot, but if it was an H exclusive collection - Evelyn, Vespa, Massai. Bamboo, Anemone, Red or Raisin - in other words, happy.

Ludicrously capacious bag - for days when you’re Mom, and you need to have All the Things, the game system and the spare shoes and snacks and spare batteries - HAC50? Garden Party? Camail? Double Sens? Birkin 30/35?

Your Ex’s Wedding - everything from the Lunch and Funeral bag - Luxurious enough to show respect, subtle enough to not draw attention to yourself, bit this one absolutely cannot be black - grey, ivory, or pastel. Rio clutch? Fonsbelle? Mini Kelly/Bolide?

Beach bag - I’d love if they made an In the Loop with a Panier style bag. But maybe a vintage canvas bag?

Evening bag - a silky bit of fluff. An egee? Kelly Danse or equally small but obviously luxurious.

I have a Chanel classic flap and a vanity that l hardly ever use.
I would to love to use all my bags frequently but even with these 6 l am struggling.
I would love to add one Kelly/birkin a year as a ‘reward’ for myself, but shudder to think that after 10 years l will end up with 16 bags??! Well maybe it isn’t such a bad problem to have, hahaha
