Cant decide between YSL medium College or Gucci Sylvie

Hi anyone own any of these 2 bags
Which one do you think is more classic and will stand the test of time?
Im looking for a bag that wont look outdated in the next 5years?

Pls help if you own any one of these bags, hows the quality. What do you think of it

Ysl looks more classic and being black will likely stand the test of time more so than the Gucci imo

I have the YSL medium college, on its second year. I do view it as a classic when I wear it or see it on line. Since Gucci is "in" right now, there seem to be so many variations of all their bags, including the Sylvie, which makes me believe, although hot right now, they will wane in time. Especially white--I see that one as "special" rather than classic.

I’ve been eyeing it for months but due to the mix review I’m still hesitating. And my friends also suggest Chanel classic since the style is similar. Your reply would be very helpful. The chain on the College bag is lightweight, but a very pretty chain, as you can see from the pictures in prior posts. Being lightweight, it shoulder be easier on the shoulder. I only have one other bag with a chain, Everie, a moderately priced bag from Denmark. The chain is smaller, but twice as heavy, or so it seems. I hardly wear the bag, due to the weight of the chain. So I don't think you can equate quality with weight. Since the College bag is high end, I personally would not want to call the chain "cheap", but would just call it comfortably lightweight. I'm not an expert, but possibly a lighter chain is more expensive to make than a heavy one? Oh, I just thought of this--a lighter weight chain makes less noise when it is set down. A heavy chain is loud. I must be trying to sway you...
Who can say no to Chanel? But it is more expensive. Get what makes your heart sing. I seem to get tired of bags, but after a year, I still love the YSL College bag. Just reviewing the pics in the above posts confirms my love for it!

I have a medium college and by no means does the chain feel light-weight or cheap. It feels very substantial to me.

YSL imo. I see sylvie in person and if you carry it with the tri color ribbon, it will be twisted and look weird/cheap.

I'm usually side with Gucci but I'm going to have to go with YSL on this one.

Not a big fan of the sylvie. Too trendy.
