Can you wear a black purse in the Spring/Summer?

I think black is great in the summer or the winter. In the winter I like to wear lighter color bags because it is so gloomy outside.

I think that the biggest reason that your fashionable older lady said that was becasue back in her day the "rule". Fashion was so much more black & white back then. (pun intended) They would never have worn black leather in summer, maybe a straw or bamboo summer thing in black, never white after Labor day, now look at al of the beautiful white winter fashhions are out there. (Beautiful white suits, the new gorgeous white Channel bags and watches, etc.) Also one would never hve worn open toe shoes in winter.

I think it is just what the fashion rules were in their day. For example, my grandma always wore a dress, pearls and low heels everyday even around the house, would never have worn jeans or sweats or even sit around the house without all her make up on even if she wasn't leaving the house or anyone was coming over, just becasue that was the way that she was raised.

Now for me personally, I wouldn't carry black leather in summer, but i love love love all of the fun bright colors and actually have to make myself buy and carry a black bag in the winter. I wouldn't do white in winter either, but then agian I personally won't do white everyday bag at all because I would get it dirty or scratched and it would freak me out.

Fashion rules are practically nonexistent these days - I would go with whatever you feel like doing.

That being said, I just can't carry a black bag during the especially summery months of June, July, and August. That still leaves 9 months of black bag carrying.

I carry black bags, in the summer, at night...I wear black or white dressy shirts, and pants, to a black purse goes with it. You look clean, and sharp. I don't use black bags in the day, I use light browns, or lighter colors, but I dont own Bright-Bright purses so I couldn't use that anyway, thats one purse on my list for summer...one thats bright. But in my opinion black is perfectly fine, as long as it goes with what your wearing...

I carry them to suit my outfit! Why should black be a no-no? It is not a color and can go with any color after all!

My Kenneth Cole lap-top case is a black and I would need it for work! lol!

I have two bags for each season, and I only have one black bag, which is carried during the winter months. By spring, I want something bright, makes me happier to carry a colorful bag

I actually only carry my black balenciaga city in the spring/summer. I think it looks silly with winter clothes and jackets, but awesome with tank tops and cute summer clothes. It's also so easy to get the handles over your arm without a coat on - and it looks so cute and summery that way

I carry black all year round. I don't even have any other colors than black and brown except for a furry white bag which obvioulsy is winter.

I carry black and other dark colors in spring/summer too. I don't care for light colored bags to be honest.

Personally I'll probably carry my black bag less during the summer. I have a lot of spring/summer bags that's been in my closet, and I only have ONE black bag, so I'll probably give it break for a season. But I think it's okay to carry black bags during the summer. They're good for work and night time as well.
