That's highly possible they were transitioning designs. When I got mine I was worried because it did look different from what I've seen online. But I saw a few other people post their new ones here and it looked like mine so I figure it was ok. I'm pretty new to LV too so I was wondering what was up with mine lol. Glad you two were able to get the matching cles though!

Lol well, I'm glad that you have a piece you love as well. It's all making sense now. And thank you, you're so kind. We're happy to be twins lol [emoji173]

Left USA, right MIF?

You got it! [emoji173]

@Jenergyup - *high five* :hugs:I much prefer the shape of the MIF cles, it's a more functional shape because (at least from my experience) I am able to fit a few more cards in it, compared to the shape of the MIU cles.

@ccmj- thanks for sharing the photos of the MIU vs MIF cles, and for starting this thread - it is very helpful!

Thank you so much for adding to the conversation as well. I like to know what others have experienced with the piece. It does seem roomier yes! And you're so welcome. I'm glad that our dialogue has helped in anyway! [emoji173]

It is not something I can tell you to particularly look out for. It is not a quality and/or material difference between MIF and MIU simply saying there have been issues with MIF items just as there are with MIU items. Bottom line there really is no difference between the two as many may think. MIF is more of a preference for some and a bonus for others. Not a matter of thinking because one received an MIF bag that it is particularly made better than a bag one has which is MIU. I have both MIF and MIU bags and there is no difference in quality, materials or make. I think that yes things happen that probably shouldn't get by quality but that is my perception and may not be in LV's quality guidelines in a whole. I also think there is a perception that just because a bag cost thousands it should be perfect and last forever indestructible so to speak - yes do I want near perfect sure but I know nothing is 100% perfect. Not saying that is the case here just what I have witnessed on the forum. Then threads like these just make them magnified even more.

I do think that the items shown in this thread reveal a massive discrepancy in quality but I also agree that the “home” country of origin isn’t always the only quality manufacturer.

Mulberry had a number of their suede and hair calf bags manufactured in Spain and these are of exceptional quality. Italy has a longstanding reputation for producing outstanding leather goods and Chanel is happy to have some of their bags manufactured here.

I think the “Made in” tag is often an emotional factor, but I do agree that these MIU are, frankly, unacceptable.

This is what I received today from an online purchase at LV website. I am disappointed. LV USA apparently doesn’t care much about producing decent quality of canvas key cles. I have two Alma BBs. One is MIU and the other is MIF, but they both are beautifully made with the same wonderful quality. I also have some other pieces that are MIU and all very beautifully made but Why not the canvas key cles? I will return mine at the store in San Francisco if it doesn’t have the right quality one for me to exchange.
