That is shocking quality control. I would hope that isn't standard for made in USA pieces. Certainly it shouldn't be. Definitely exchange it!
Mine is curvy, matte, made in the USA and I love it. My stitching looks fine though in comparison to the one you showed. That would be the only concern I might have based on the differences.

I much prefer the shape of the MIF cles, it's a more functional shape because (at least from my experience) I am able to fit a few more cards in it, compared to the shape of the MIU cles.@ccmj- thanks for sharing the photos of the MIU vs MIF cles, and for starting this thread - it is very helpful!

The stitching on the Made in US cles is a darn shame. I have one MIF and it's perfect.
I purchased mine in January 2017, last year so I think it's a 2016 model.
I do think that the items shown in this thread reveal a massive discrepancy in quality but I also agree that the “home” country of origin isn’t always the only quality manufacturer.
Mulberry had a number of their suede and hair calf bags manufactured in Spain and these are of exceptional quality. Italy has a longstanding reputation for producing outstanding leather goods and Chanel is happy to have some of their bags manufactured here.
I think the “Made in” tag is often an emotional factor, but I do agree that these MIU are, frankly, unacceptable.
This is what I received today from an online purchase at LV website. I am disappointed. LV USA apparently doesn’t care much about producing decent quality of canvas key cles. I have two Alma BBs. One is MIU and the other is MIF, but they both are beautifully made with the same wonderful quality. I also have some other pieces that are MIU and all very beautifully made but Why not the canvas key cles? I will return mine at the store in San Francisco if it doesn’t have the right quality one for me to exchange.
