Can the vachetta leather be stopped naturally from turning to patina if...

My 5 year old Neverfull MM mono developed a rather nice honey patina, although it has spent most of its existence in a dust bag.
So no there is no turning off the patina process, but I personally don´t mind.

Did you spray it when new? Or not new?
I sprayed mine new after researching it a lot before I bought the actual bag and my mom sprayed hers that is 5 years old. So it really doesn’t matter when you start, just that it won’t get rid of existing watermarks or stains only protect from water and stains going forward. It definitely was something my mom wanted to do with hers after she saw how mine turned out after spraying. I sprayed mine in November of this year and actually tested it with a tiny drop of water 2 days ago and it still was protected so might just refresh it once it starts getting hotter her in the north.

spraying does not stopped the patina in my experience. I sprayed my NN as it has patina. I don't mind it and it is still light but it has. Planning on doing a second pass but mostly because of the water stains
