I’ve been in marketing for 20 years. Bulgari is making a strong move to sit at the table with Tiffany, Cartier and VCA. Until now, Bulgari has been classified as a luxury brand but is viewed as ‘a good value’ compared to those other brands. No luxury brand wants to be associated with ‘value’ as it suggests ‘common’. The brand has enjoyed some attention recently so is capitalizing on that to raise prices and push further up the luxury ladder.

To compare: Cartier demi pave JUC is .58 carats for $13,300. Now the demi Serpenti bracelet is .47 carats for $11,200. The new price seems more comparable to Cartier JUC. Full pave Serpenti is 3.28 carats for $38,100 while full pave JUC is 2.26 carats for $48,200……Serpenti still (at least for now) seems like the better value. Though I’m sure that won’t last long.

The bottom line….if you want luxury brand items buy them now as they won’t stay at these prices. These brands increase prices for profit but also (just as importantly) to maintain their positioning of exclusivity. And there will always be those consumers who will pay the higher prices…because they can.

I bought the full pave bracelet for ~$24,000 in 2021, can't imagine the price was raised by 50% in only three years.. Granted it's a stunning and delicate piece, and Serpenti is the brand's signature line.. but now.. it's just difficult to swallow the price. I would go for Cartier or some other fine/high jewelry for that kind of money 🤷‍♀️
