Alexander Wang Buyers beware of the Rocco leather!

I'm so sorry this happened to your bag!!! I would definitely fight AW on this. How could only one handle be affected if you use both handles to carry the bag? It doesn't make sense!

I want a Rocco so bad, but after reading the leather issues, I'll wait until this problem is fixed (if ever).

Now my problem is to get someone to respond.

I asked Aloha Rag to get a further explanation...but that was 3 days ago and no response. Not even a response to say that they would look into it. talk about the cold shoulder.

And I sent an email to AW and haven't heard anything yet.

I just might have to give up on this war.:sad:

I'm so sorry this is happening! What a bummer!! It's hard for me to see the magnitude of the damage but have you already tried taking it to your local cobbler/leather repair shop? They may not charge you too much and it may be worth getting your bag fixed so you can use it! Such a shame to have it sitting in the closet ;(
Good luck either way

I also have a huge issue with my Rocco bag....the leather on the edge of the bag has worn thin and torn only to reveal a white plastic strip! I have never seen this on any bag....I have tried to glue on leather to cover this but I'm afraid that all the edging will wear this way only to reveal white plastic underneath - in contrast I have had a Fendi bag de jour which I have worn to death and it still looks like new and it has similar edging but nothing like this has happened - has anyone else had this problem with their Wang Rocco bag? I am just so angry because this bag looks like it could withstand some wear but this is really quite shocking...

AW makes me so mad when is comes to repairs. They will not repair after a year...it is considered wear and tear after a year. I spoke to a woman at the showroom and she told me it is corporate policy. She also told me that 2010 bags had problems but AW "honored" the repairs. Lamb leather is a lot softer then cow hide. A shoe cobbler can fix most bag problems. I just took my coco to a cobbler barneys coop recommended. First a stud fell off then the seam came out where the hidden zipper compartments are.

pradapiggy you are completely right. I told the woman at AW that customers at some point would start catching on about complaints and damage issues. Thus stop buying their product. I tried to tell her politely that their reputation would go down quickly if quality did not get better.

Hi,

I also have the same problem. I bought my bag a month ago and it is falling apart! The handle is splitting, the leather is thorn apart on some places... I am really disappointed in their quality..
Also, I'll try to contact them and ask them to repair the bag.. What a shame..

xoxo

this one year repair policy is totally inadequate for a bag of this price, and with so many factory defects (I'd say exposed piping with just normal wear on a leather handle, or on corners of the bag is a defect. I have a hand-me-down prada bag with leather trim and handles that has been through hell and back and let me tell you, the handle is not ripping apart and exposing white piping.)

It's really disappointing, because I love the look of the Rocco and Diego. They aren't cheap bags, are hard to find on sale, and the repair policy is complete crap.

exact same thing with my baby rocco. the leather on the piping has worn away only to reveal the plastic piping underneath. my bag is the one with black studs and the piping for my bag is black. not too sure why but yea it is worn away anyways. the bag spa in my country offers services to fix it to be good as new but it will cost 210. honestly speaking, is it worth my money to fix it if im not even 100percent sure if it will ever start wearing away again in months time.

my conclusion is to just make full use out of it since i have it anyways. i love the style and i wont ever buy another wang bag because of the quality of it. so im going to make full use out of it as an everyday bag while saving up for a better bag in the future.
