i read through 24 pages and that guy is an a$$.

if he is not interested in paying the customs, he can ASK if the seller can declared it at a lower value and not ASSUME.
We have a slang that goes, You think, I thought, Who confirm?

but i like the exchange of vocab. wonderful. i really would like you to send out the letter and see his response. but, i am worried that if u further trigger him in the wrong way, you doesn't know what things he will do.

Alas, it seems it's not over (yet). I woke up to this message from the buyer:

For the immediate attention of Ms. Danielle XXXXXXXX of XX XXXXXX Ln, XXX XXXXXXXXXX, NJ XXXXX. Telephone: XXX-XXX-XXXX.

Re: eBay item # 190262168560

Dear Ms. Abramson,

I have been in touch with a Mr. Ted Lange of Paypal International Inc., and with a Ms. Mireille Sabatini who represents me legally in the United States. I was informed by the Paypal official, who perused all our correspondence (which I'd taken great care to save, fearing just such subterfuge from you) that I am well within my remit of expectations to demand an invoice of charges from you. He also stated that your fees seem excessive in comparison with similar cases he's seen.

As this is a point of principle for me I've taken the rather expensive step of engaging my aforementioned legal representative and provided her with all documentation up to this point. I let her know that I feel your refusal to disclose the itemisation of your fees betrays a certain malversation and intention to punish. She likewise reassured me that it is well within my legal rights to demand and expect an invoice and to initiate legal action if such is withheld, especially as I suspect a punitive element in your charges. I'm reliably informed of a good prognosis of prevailment.

Before I set these wheels in motion I shall show due legal consideration by reiterating my request that you provide me without further delay with an invoice detailing all fees deducted from my original payment and their corresponding designations. This is to reach me by email no later than this coming Friday. Failure to do so will indicate intention to defraud and will leave me with no other choice but to push for the strictest measure of legal recourse at my disposal. I will also keep Mr. Lange abreast of all developments as he requested.

Sincerely,

H. El-Rayah

A copy of this correspondence is also sent to Ms. Sabatini at her behest.

He writes this mumbo jumbo and he thinks this is "opaque"!?

"Please note: you are responsible for any government taxes or tariffs. For our mutual protection, customs forms will be marked with an accurate value for you item. "

Thanks to this thread I am missing out on my beauty rest!! I got sucked into this one and am :wtf:......Yes he is ....Now it has been entertaining but I feel for you cuz it's really not funny having to put up with loon like this! While it would be torture for me not to respond - I think that's really your best bet at this point...Hopefully he'll just go away!

What a gargantuan load of steaming dung!

OK...les6.gif

Upon perusing the most recent pleonastic and prolix epistle from this florid, periphrasis-addicted individual, we have concluded it is an articulate yet nugatory subterfuge intended to beset and coerce the seller, as per his remit of expectations, with accusations of malversation and false allegations of positive prognosis of prevailment, among other stratagems.

Seriously dude, blow me...

PS: Excellent letter Choo! I frequently tell people to ignore these lunatics, let them fester in their own stinking pus, but that letter is waaaaaay too good to be wasted. I would wait and see what he does Friday, just in case you need to edit something.

I like this one! I think I'm going to have to have to introduce it here in The Garden State. :smile1:

Now that is an excellent point. I totally forgot he called my terms 'opaque'. Considering his vernacular appears to be based on opacity (is that a word??) you'd think he'd be able to understand me!!

Sorry about your beauty sleep!!

Oooo ... I think nugatory might become my new favorite word! And I do very much like how you've summed up my letter, because 'dude, blow me' was actually EXACTLY what I was trying to say!!!

I'm going to take everyone's advice and hold off on sending the letter until after his "deadline". If he contacts me again, the letter goes (with appropriate edits to address any other ludicrous statements he may make).

Thanks for the laugh, KZ.:roflmfao:

Hey guys! I am reading this post and have a question. I just sold a bag for about $200 to a woman in Germany. She asked me to declare the item as a present so that she doesn't have to pay custom fees. Can I still declare the item at $200 for insurance with USPS and for declare it as a present with customs?
I am new to overseas shipping and I do not want to get stuck in the same mess as the poster here!
