Hello Bvlgari friends! Long time lurker. Apologies for this long post, but I don't feel like I have anyone I can talk to about these things outside of this forum. I have just bought this mini serpenti forever bag in the beige iridescent galuchat leather. I have been admiring Bvlgari for over a year now. This is only my second handbag ever, my first is a LV Alma BB. I was initially interested in the silver metallic karung bag that a few of you on this thread own. However, when I saw this galuchat bag, I decided to grab it instead as my first Bvlgari piece.
Since it's arrived I have found a few small problems with it. I thought I would like the small size because it would be a special occasion bag and all I really need to carry are my phone and a few cards. However, I was shocked when it arrived because my phone doesn't actually fit. If I take the case off, I can squeeze it in there but it does push out the leather sides, which is not ideal and I assume bad for the bag.
Also, the bag still came with a Bvlgari mirror, but since its a mini bag, the mirror is just a slab of metal and mine has a discoloration defect. It almost looks burnt and I tried to wash it off but it won't budge. I am hoping CS will replace the mirror, but I can't get in contact with them until Monday.
Finally, the bag came with an international authenticity card that has a QR code on it. When I scan it, it brings up serial information for a completely different bag (Men's briefcase bought 1/4/21??). Has anyone experienced problems with their authenticity card? I am hoping this doesn't cause problems for me when I try to talk to CS on Monday.
All in all, I do love this bag. It matches everything perfectly. It is a beautiful beige as seen in the second picture, but when the light hits it, it turns purple, green, and gold. I can move past the phone not fitting, but it left a bad taste in my mouth that the mirror and authenticity card have problems.
I am still trying to decide if I should keep it or potentially exchange for the small sized metallic karung bag. But most likely I will keep it because of its wearability (while also having a fun color shift!) and I am excited to have a galuchat piece in my collection.
My most important question is: I was planning on wearing this bag for the first time tomorrow at Easter dinner. Do you think it is safe for me to wear it and remove the "not returnable once removed tag" before speaking to customer service about the mirror and authenticity card? Of course I will only remove it if I do decide to keep it, but I want to make sure that there will be no problems getting a replacement mirror if I remove the tag.
