Bulgari Serpenti Bag. Is It Worth It?

@TraceySH if i recall correctly, you have a pearlescent white Bvlgari bag?
I just ordered one and it looked bright pearly white online; but irl it is very cream w yellow undertones & just hints of shimmer .

Is that how the pearlescent white bag looks? I'm afraid mine looks like it is a white bag that is starting to yellow.
Yes, it's more muted, and it's a cream color not super white white. It looks very different in different lights tho. Sometimes when something reads "iridescent" I expect it to be Chanel's version (which can be REALLY iridescent and IMO sometimes unwearable). This is subdued but wearable, the calfskin is so durable too that I won't worry about it being too fragile. Below to me is accurate for how it looks....

Right not super iridescent; just when i look super close the leather looks more yellow than yours @TraceySH .
Any issues with color transfer?
Not at all, which is why I like it. The way it's done it's very "fragile", the calf is so sturdy. BUT if I set it on something dusty, the corners will show that. I was able to rub it right off though, unlike I could with a chanel which would rub off the leather...

Good to know it's not fragile - i was concerned bec it's so light!
Would a yellow undertone bother you? I tried to capture the yellow but it's not showing up in my pictures
Hi there,
I bought a bag from Bvlgari over lockdown in the from the Bond St Boutique. It was supposed to be an agate white colour, the first one i ordered had some brown /yellow specs on it so I exchanged it. The exchange bag had visible yellowing, more so around the chains though. Due to the yellowing, I returned the bag. From that experience, I decided their white leather bags aren't for me.
It could be possible that yours is yellowing.

My pictures barely the show the extent, but I have included anyway. 20210204_104304.jpg

Yeah it's disappointing because they've got such beautiful bags. I love it but i am concerned about whether it's the real color or yellowing.
When i had called a few stores about this bag they claimed it was the last one in the country & coming from far away, when meanwhile it actually shipped from near me. So i feel like i can't exactly trust them to be honest with me. I'm torn tbh.

Could you perhaps exchange for another colour if they claim another white is not available? Or order another white online and see if it is better, then return the one that is yellow? <- Not sure about Bvlgari's return policy so please be sure you can make a return before proceeding with that option.
White leather does yellow in time, in my limited experience, so I think it may be easier to choose another colour altogether...

I really wanted pale pink or white for summer. I chose white bec pale pink won't match any of my clothes.
I thought only white patent leather turns yellow- does regular leather turn as well?
I can return it because i bought it online; in store or phone orders are store credit or exchange only.

I have had pebbled and smooth white leather turn yellow in time. However, it took many years for the yellowing to occur. Also, in my case, they were contemporary bags so perhaps it was due to the cheaper leather used? I'm really not sure but hope that someone else with more experience with white leathers can add to the comments.

I hope you get a resolution that works for you. Perhaps order another one online and see if that one is a proper white, then return this one.
The bag itself is stunning and that is what I would choose to do if I were in your shoes, but it's your money and you need to determine the course of action that will bring you peace and leave you a happy customer. You want to be able to smile whenever you use the bag.
Please let us know what you decide to do. Good luck :)

@jblended @TraceySH @sera96 - if it's not a bother, do you guys think the dots in my pic (can see if enlarged) are part of the cream color leather or signs of a light bag yellowing?
Thanks for tagging me because I didn't see that you updated with a picture.

I can see the yellowing but am not sure if that's just from the texture of the pebbled leather or if it's aging leather that is changing colour.

Does it show when you look at the bag as a whole?
Does the bag look uniformly cream or are some parts of it more yellow than others?
If it's the latter, then it is due to aging or bad storage or paint scuffing off. That's a risk with white leather, these things show very easily.
However, if it's uniformly this cream colour, then that is probably just the colour of the bag and it is the texture of the leather that is making the high spots look a slightly more yellow tinge.
Does that make any sense? I'm struggling to explain myself. :)

Your best bet is for someone with the same bag to compare theirs with yours and let you know if this is normal for this specific bag.

Sorry I can't be of more help :flowers:

I just looked at the photo from @TraceySH above (#76) and it looks the same as yours. Lower left corner of the flap has that same slightly cream tinge. I think this only shows in certain lights because of reflection and is not a defect.
It would seem to be the finish on this bag. I don't think it is meant to be bright white, as she said it's more of a subdued colour.
I hope she can confirm because she owns the same one. :)

Hi you guys sorry! Yes to me it seems the same. When I got it, I was a bit surprised it was more of a cream color with some iridescence than white with maybe slightly more iridescence? But then I remembered how difficult it was for me to style the crazy Chanel white iridescent pieces, so I appreciated it. I suppose there's a yellow when I see it in non-daylight light, but in regular daylight it's that beautiful cream. It DOES appear differently in different lighting. The only thing that matters is that you love it, and if you don't, then exchange by all means!!!! I have the charcoal grey one as well, and absolutely love that color!
