My late Mom, Dad and my uncles (Mom's brothers) loved mysteries whether from U.S., U.K., Japan or Canada. We probably would've loved ones from other countries but we had no access to them. Whether TV shows or movies murder mysteries had always been our choice to watch. Even with them all gone now it still is for me.

Having just re-read all 70+ Agatha Christie, including the Westmacotts - I cannot watch the Poirot and Miss Marple TV shows or movies. Too simplified, too much deviation, too many poor casting choices. Also, as much as I love the '30s, not all books were set in it! So that too.
