I'm not surprised with this piece of news but it is not going to stop the true resellers from getting their supply. Many go to FSH and get bags with the intention of flipping and I wonder if they are coming from long time FSH customers. As I see the supply of bags and availability of the latest color choices, I tend to think that they are regular customers rather than a pure walk-in. In reading the experience of most TPFers at FSH, most of them are only offered the basic colors like black, gold and etoupe (maybe a red one in a while) but the ones that are available on ebay have anything that you can imagine.
Firing the 2 employees is a good gesture but wouldn't stamp resellers activity. The only way to do so is to make these bags more available to any customers that ask for them. But then, the unlimited supply will dilute the value of the brand, which is something that Hermes doesn't want to do.

I believe in Karma people... a negative seed sowed is going to need some kind of payback one way or another... the forces of nature have a way of equalizing things...
hence i always try to do good and be fair - be it the president of the united states or the hobo in the corner of the street....
So if this Hermes reseller/ SAs have this little game going on for years... let them as Im pretty sure their lives are attracting negativity in different forms - problems, illnesses, sadness... KWIM?

I actually have a London story to tell. My friend wanted a Constance very badly and she visited a few of the stores here with hopes of purchasing one. She finally found a male SA at one of the boutiques who said "I will take care of you if you take care of me during Christmas" (this was during the winter). In the end he was able to get her one and she tipped him £1000. She didn't mind doing so as she had really wanted the bag but I was surprised at how blatant he was about it. I really hope Hermes does something about this behavior; however, I do not wish for them to punish an innocent SA as a scapegoat for the guilty ones.

i was in london mid 2011 and would frequent the 3 stores everyday for 3-4 days...trying to get a 35 K or B
In one of the stores , the manager asked " So what did the Bond street store say??? and he was a pretty dead serious with no expression whatsoever...
It kind of gave me the creeps... Hello we are dealing with a handbag here ??? Why do I feel like its kind of a "secret society" like we are dealing with deep dark secrets and witchery?
So I just went to Harrods and enjoyed the food there and looked at some Cartier and YSL shoes and surrounded myself with lovely people to get the negative vibes out of my system...
I mean Im a pretty straightforward person ( sometimes too much
)
And I enjoy living in the moment... So if I ask " Oh do you by any chance have this B / K in this size or color?" I feel I deserve an honest answer.. right..?
But, their facial expression, their gestures, etc just wasn't right...

This is interesting! Thanks for sharing your experience. I frequent a few H stores in London and always had good experience. Sure I don't always get offered rarest bags but I have been shown pretty good selection of pieces, some I bought, some I passed. I would be disappointed if any actual bribing took place but I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of "discretion" was applied. Afterall, their demand hugely out-weight the supply.
Well my SA told me that noone of the other SA's think that the two really did it !

I dont mind buying a Bag from a reseller if the Price is reasonable.
But a reseller that gets a Bag for 6800 € and sells it for 13.000 € is making me Angry!
