OK, thanks. Was curious because a co-worker of my friend has purchased two bags worth over 800 from 2 different reputable Japanese companies and she didn't have to pay customs either time. That's why I was confused and looking to find out if anyone had experience specifically with Brandoff. Seems different companies do it differently. A long time ago I purchased from one that I had to pay it at the time of purchase as the seller said they handle it on their end so that there are no surprises when the item is delivered. Thanks much for your input :)

If the item is sent USPS and Japan Post (normally called EMS in the listing) it usually doesn't incur a Custom's fee. It it's sent FedEx or some other service it will.

There is a lengthy thread on here about customs and items from Japan. I am on my phone and can't link it -sorry about that! The private courier services seem to get stopped in Customs/pay duty more often than EMS, which is Japanese mail, as Caannie said.

I have never had to pay duty on something from Japan - all of my items have been shipped via EMS. EMS is also very fast, at least to the West Coast!

I am a multiple buyer of Brandoff and would definitely recommend them! they have shops in japan, hong kong and Taiwan and all my items bought are all legit.
