I have four speedies and don't use anything on the bottom. I actually love the saggy look. Sorry I am of no help at this point. Hope you find what works best.
Isn't the Speedy designed to sag a bit? Why would we need to use a prop? I just don't get this?

I prefer a supported bottom too. for my Damier Speedy 30, I cut out a red cardboard from an old calendar. I also have 2 cardboards for the side panels which enhance the exterior look as well as keeping my interier from being stained. For my Mono Speedy 35, I used a heavy transparent plastic film and it certainly helped since it held a lot during my recent trips.

i tried a magazine, but it sagged WITH the bag, so i got my boyfriend to cut up a box, then i wrapped the cardboard piece in an old navy blue Burberry dustbag, and it works great now.

whatever you use for the bottom, cut it just a teeny tiny bit bigger all around, so that it stays put and doesn't move around.
