I'll pick BA over BdP because I prefer the purple undertones in BA compared to the green/teal undertones in BdP. Then again, both colours are really pretty & easy to use so you can't really go wrong with either. =) Good Luck!

BA is definitely my pick. BDP and BT are all teal blues with BDP being a darker version of BT. BT is really pretty in epsom and does come without the contrast stitching. i do think that BT is a fun blue and is quite bright. it really depends on the individual and i do think you can "grow old" with BT. but if you're apprehensive about bright colors the BA is a better blue. i would pick BA over etoupe/gris and all the other neutrals. but i am also drawn to blues. 
i am under the impression that BA only comes in clemence and not togo? maybe someone can clarify this.

i have a blue thalassa 35 in epsom phw (with matching stitching, not contrast) and it is a perfect neutral IMO. but it was before BdP and BA were available but i'd still pick it again although i'd give a long loving look at BdP

I have black already so i didn't want to go that dark and wanted a blue that would pop (but not as much as blue saphire or blue roi (i prefer the teal green undertone in it...I think you have to decide if you like more the purple/violet undertones of BA or blue saphir or the teal/green undertones of BdP and BT......but i must say no one does the blue color family like H...they are all divine! thalassa means "the sea" and it is jsut that, the color of the deep ocean on a sunny day! As far as I know, BA is only available in Clemence for now. It's a new colour, so H might do other skins in time to come. ETA, it's possible Togo is available already.
If you decide to choose blue, aside from the different undertones, one (BdP) pops more than the other (BA). I can't do medium tones, so BA is the choice for me. Besides I love the purple undertone in it. IMO, BA is more classic due to the darker hue - it's like black but with a twist KWIM. (Eva's Birkin looks brighter due to the direct camera flash, IRL it's deeper).
If I had to choose only ONE Birkin. I would pick either Etoupe or GT. Then again, am a huge fan of neutrals, so that's me.

BA also comes in fjord got mine not too long ago and its in fjord. Miss Piggy you are right, it is deeper than Eva's pic though still very beautiful.

Dear CHANEL, i have a 35 bdp birkin in togo phw, and it's just so lovely! the color is versatile and very easy to wear, and togo leather is perfect for every day use( i like the veins in togo too). When i was in FSH i could choose between parchemin chocolat and black, and eventhough it was my firt birkin , i took bdp and don't regret it. Hope this helps

For contrast lining should you want it, I would go neutral, ardoise/graphite for example, think it would look great and I would not get bored of it in 20 years to come.

i am also a big fan of the blues. of all three, I'd pick BA in fjord. but my favorite is actually indigo. imo, the darker the hue, the more classic it is. but this is obviously a very personal preference.

I have Bleu Abysse in Clemence and LOVE IT. As someone said, the resin is black which is a gorgeous contrast. And yes, the color IRL is darker than Eva's photo. The BA looks great in the evening (could pass for black), looks great with jeans (most blues would), looks classy when I take her to the office. Just love, love, the color. Good luck with your choice, it's a fun decision to make!

I'd love to have a bag with the exact color as the one on Eva's picture. That's the perfect blue for me. Not too bright but still a color that a little bit pops, KWIM? Unfortunately it looks brighter because of the flash, but maybe if I go for BA in Fjord, it's a little bit brighter?

Going to a H. store this weekend anyway, I hope there are some blue bags or accessories available so that I can see the colors IRL.
