Thank you @Coconuts40 your message is SO well received. It's amazing and surreal how things have changed so drastically even from when I posted this thread yesterday morning to now. My states are on semi-lockdown with only essential businesses open, one state for a month and another state through the end of April! Being a therapist isn't the source of my income as you can imagine, I just became one to give back what was given to me in my times of need during many horrific, painful and traumatic periods of my life. I am lucky to be alive (not the place to tell my story) but each day I wake up, I know that it's borrowed. I spent all last summer working with the homeless and learned SO much from them. One thing I learned the most, I think, was how much we truly can "shed" as humans and still be exactly ourselves. How much all of us have built up around us that we think are such essential things, that really are not at all. I learned how so much of the joy they experienced (yes many of them are HAPPY, like REALLY HAPPY) came from a lack of all the distractions and trappings we've insulated ourselves with. I guess I always think, if they are so happy at that baseline, I should be able to be that too. I am pretty sure I would be a horrible candidate for that, but the lesson was learned nonetheless. So in that, I know we will (most of us) be ok, we survive, transform, evolve, etc. but I don't think things will look the same again as they did a month ago, sadly.I hope we can all be considerate when discussing our point of view.
@TraceySH I am so glad your issue got resolved and that it was a misunderstanding. The person who helped you was likely not in the frame of mind to handle your question. Not an excuse but given the climate it's likely what happened. So glad you were able to resolve this concern with someone that could really help you. I have seen your purchases and they are all stunning and I can tell you really enjoy your purchases. I am also certain you have worked hard to earn the ability to make these purchases.
In today's climate I have learned that compassion and empathy and simply being a good human being without judgement goes a long way. Hermes really will need someone like you that will continue to shop and enjoy the brand as the fallout of this virus hasn't even reared its ugly head yet.
Personally, I am in healthcare but self employed and I have been forced to stop working indefinitely until further notice by my regulatory College. On top of the market losses, I now have no income, and yet I do not see any harm in the question being asked here, and if someone finds it offensive they should just walk away. Luckily, I can weather this storm thanks to my parents always teaching me to 'save for a rainy day', aka 'stupid crazy virus that has brought the world to a standstill'. It's nice to come to this forum for some normalcy or at least an escape, as there is nothing else very normal in this world anymore.
Looking forward to seeing many more of your posts and your purchases !
I am sorry for your losses here as well. My "other" business (not therapy related) will also suffer dramatically but not quite as quickly many people here. Mine will be the after effects of stores closing, retail suffering, etc.
Anyway, I will have a fun spending quality time with the bags and other things I have gotten, at home of course, since I can't take them out to dinner or a show. I think this might be a whole new arena for the instagrammers - how to play dress up at home
