I hope we can all be considerate when discussing our point of view.

@TraceySH I am so glad your issue got resolved and that it was a misunderstanding. The person who helped you was likely not in the frame of mind to handle your question. Not an excuse but given the climate it's likely what happened. So glad you were able to resolve this concern with someone that could really help you. I have seen your purchases and they are all stunning and I can tell you really enjoy your purchases. I am also certain you have worked hard to earn the ability to make these purchases.

In today's climate I have learned that compassion and empathy and simply being a good human being without judgement goes a long way. Hermes really will need someone like you that will continue to shop and enjoy the brand as the fallout of this virus hasn't even reared its ugly head yet.

Personally, I am in healthcare but self employed and I have been forced to stop working indefinitely until further notice by my regulatory College. On top of the market losses, I now have no income, and yet I do not see any harm in the question being asked here, and if someone finds it offensive they should just walk away. Luckily, I can weather this storm thanks to my parents always teaching me to 'save for a rainy day', aka 'stupid crazy virus that has brought the world to a standstill'. It's nice to come to this forum for some normalcy or at least an escape, as there is nothing else very normal in this world anymore.

Looking forward to seeing many more of your posts and your purchases !
Thank you @Coconuts40 your message is SO well received. It's amazing and surreal how things have changed so drastically even from when I posted this thread yesterday morning to now. My states are on semi-lockdown with only essential businesses open, one state for a month and another state through the end of April! Being a therapist isn't the source of my income as you can imagine, I just became one to give back what was given to me in my times of need during many horrific, painful and traumatic periods of my life. I am lucky to be alive (not the place to tell my story) but each day I wake up, I know that it's borrowed. I spent all last summer working with the homeless and learned SO much from them. One thing I learned the most, I think, was how much we truly can "shed" as humans and still be exactly ourselves. How much all of us have built up around us that we think are such essential things, that really are not at all. I learned how so much of the joy they experienced (yes many of them are HAPPY, like REALLY HAPPY) came from a lack of all the distractions and trappings we've insulated ourselves with. I guess I always think, if they are so happy at that baseline, I should be able to be that too. I am pretty sure I would be a horrible candidate for that, but the lesson was learned nonetheless. So in that, I know we will (most of us) be ok, we survive, transform, evolve, etc. but I don't think things will look the same again as they did a month ago, sadly.

I am sorry for your losses here as well. My "other" business (not therapy related) will also suffer dramatically but not quite as quickly many people here. Mine will be the after effects of stores closing, retail suffering, etc.

Anyway, I will have a fun spending quality time with the bags and other things I have gotten, at home of course, since I can't take them out to dinner or a show. I think this might be a whole new arena for the instagrammers - how to play dress up at home ;)

@TraceySH

Feel free to stop by more often at the Givenchy forum. We loved your review and pics of the Mystic. The brand used to be more edgy under Tisci, but CWK is trying.
I love Givenchy! I agree CWK is TRYING, and the craftsmanship on all their things is just amazing. I think she will get her footing. It took MGC a few minutes to incorporate her Valentino aesthetic into something that looked more like Dior than Valentino :)

I am trying to understand why anyone would come into this thread to moan and complain at the OP and particularly to take an attitude of "there are bigger things going on in the world". We are all suffering from those bigger things, in one way or another. But if you are HERE, you are on a purse forum, so clearly you are looking for some frivolous comfort or distraction. And if you have enough time to parse through OP's old posts and count bag purchases....well...maybe allow that you, too, might be taking some frivolous time for yourself.
If the OP wants to post a lot about Hermes CS, no one has to read it if they don't want to. People have ten page threads deciding between gray and grey or because there's an invisible .1 of a mm mark on a bag and they are hyperventilating :P it's all good! That's why we are here and why we can skip over threads and use the ignore function. I have about thirty people on ignore and it makes tPF a much more fun place!

@TraceySH I hope this works out for you. It sounds like a backend tech glitch you will have to work around and is clearly not personal. Kudos for the counseling you are doing - I am sure it is needed.
QF, you nailed it !!:biggrin:

And I did cheat and go back to Chanel last week I just didn't post it. There was one I just couldn't pass up
:P:yes: I am so tickled. Folks, if you think OP is "mean" towards Hermes and their opaque customer service...you should read what she has lately said about Chanel! She is probably 10x as critical...and yet...so hard to resist, isn't it? ;)

At the end of the day, they are just companies and goods, they should be critiqued. Not the same thing as personally attacking others or assuming the worst about them.

I have had great fun reading this thread and will follow any updates. It has also been most informative. The snarky comments here are only a small minority of the community (same as most good forums) -- the WORST forums are those where there is only sterile politeness because they censor or ban at any hint of controversy or attitude. I find that during this time my gratitude has increased; yes I took a haircut during the market correction as well (honestly, I think everyone should at least be partially investing and thus most financially 'savvy' must have taken some temporary losses unless they are gifted in market timing) but I'm grateful for the people I care and worry about, the sweetie boyfriend I haven't seen in over a week due to "social distancing", and the things I currently have. My heart goes out to anyone who is working less not by choice, for businesses that are struggling, and oh gosh I love to complain about airlines but I would loathe any of them to go bankrupt in the coming weeks.

BUT

Until/unless someone I personally know falls ill, my distractions are closer to my heart than some vague worrying about things I cannot fully control. This includes all forms of entertainment, and, silly things like purse forums.

I'm also a health professional and for work/life balance, usually choose to work only part-time these days. But now I am being asked to work more hours to provide relief for others who are stressed/overworked or sick...which I will gladly be doing...so of course these matters are important to me. It's just that I prefer and seek out light topics in my idle time...and my goodness, some posts in this thread really proved how brilliant and sparkling some of you members are.

I'll be starting some shifts near the airport for the next couple weeks -- and the ones who provided levity and warmth, you are indirectly helping as well. :flowers:

I, on the other hand, just lost everything in the market crash, because I was too busy with my other (low paying) job to sell my funds when I had intended. So I will most likely never be able to afford another bag of any kind. I am in my 50’s and was on track for retirement from my day job. It is too physically taxing and I have health conditions. It looks like I won’t even have money to eat decently, much less retire. I don’t make enough money at my job in health care to pay all my bills. I relied heavily on dividends and selling my stocks. Considering it took 12 years to recover from the last crash, I will be on Medicare by the time my investments recover enough to consider selling. I’m off to eat my rice and beans. I’m gonna be eating a lot of them from now on. Is there a “Rice n Bean” forum?
Hello my dear, my best recommendation to you (as I try to tell myself regularly) is just to do the best we can day-to-day and be optimistic while we do it...things will not get worse if we try it this way.

I'm hoping your investments were relatively conservative; my brokerage is going haywire and it's hard to reach customer service for my minor accounts glitch...but I'm sure some traders are panicking if they were being margincalled and/or leveraged multiple times. If yours weren't complex derivatives and such, it should hopefully recover decently well. You are intelligent and capable.

My parents with a fraction of my education, and a fraction of my spoiled soft privilege, retired at 75/80 years old and I am thankful they are still alive and relatively healthy. Someone also sent me a reminder picture that some of their grandparents had been called to war; we are being asked to mostly stay home and do an economic reshuffling of our priorities. I know this doesn't specifically help you much but I hope it keeps your morale going a bit. I do believe the world will recover eventually, we just have to weather the storm for a while.

I'm always advised to sit tight on market investments because although the market goes down and on paper you see a loss, in the end the market always bounces back. Unless what you're invested in has completely gone out of business and gone forever, you will be OK and just have to close your eyes to what's happening now. I've been through this 3 times with my portfolio, I've lost bundles in the market but it's always bounced back. And rice and beans, maybe there's a vegan forum somewhere here on tpf. Honestly we'd all be healthier if we ate a diet like that. ;)

Hang in there. Turn off the TV and don't be hyper vigilant with watching the market.

OP - thank you for sharing. That’s the purpose of this forum. I’m happy things have worked out.
Thank you! It's a bit of a moot point now, as things are changing so rapidly. We went from modified normal, to restricted normal, to minimally normal to zombie apocalypse. I was just now talking to my LV SD and she said they have switched to working from home seamlessly & she is so grateful for the company having been prepared to "go remote". I think everything EVERYTHING will change after this is over. Virtual appointments, maybe less brick and mortar, you name it. Perhaps H.com will have to really beef up their back end if that is the trend.

This is my last post on this thread. You had major issues with Hermes before and posted about it and now this. Nobody on this thread seems to have such major issues with H. There is a major pandemic out there and people are worried about their jobs, access to medicine and food. You have spent 400k at Hermes in four months. You are beyond fortunate financially compared to most of the world. I suggest you get some perspective and, if you don’t please realize they have a waiting list that is years long and a quota for even the biggest whale spenders who will happily take your place and don’t complain about H constantly on the web. This is my last post to you. Good luck.

I'm normally not one to stir the pot but I have to agree with CMilly. This is the time to really be thankful what you have and the opportunities that have been presented. You seem incredibly financially blessed, so why not use those resources to aid those in need? It is so important to count your blessings. The problem that you are having with the H website may seem dire but in reality it is fairly minor in relation to the economic crisis so many are living through.

This was from 2 days ago, this is a purse forum. And if you read through the posts you would see that I am working pro bono throughout each day for those in need of mental health counseling. I work pro bono in my profession with those less fortunate than I. But I suppose if that’s not good enough for some of you or doesn’t meet your high standards of privilege redistribution than clearly you are not here to help, support, understand or even offer your own compassion towards EVERYONE not just those who pass your self-made litany tests for what counts in being a decent human.

By the same token let’s make sure to troll all the other people here posting their purchases and talking about thread counts and defects. I think they should be rightfully shamed according to your pious filter.

I'm sorry, no offense, but how is SakuraSakura a troll? When did providing others with a different perspective and disagreeing with them, even in their own thread, make you a troll? She was being respectful, and only providing a different point of view, so I don't see the need for name calling and rudeness. This is not a reveal thread, so it's not like she came in and ruin someone's joy, so let's not suggest that.

First, troll here is used as a verb if you will reread the post. Second, her post has nothing to do with the subject matter in the thread. Third, the implications in using another statement to augment her argument implies that 1) I am tone deaf to what is going on 2) I should give back (which makes an assumption that I don’t and 3) states that people here should not focus on purse issues on a purse forum at this time.
