Black marks on palladium hardware of my Birkin.

Girls and boys, I have a gold togo birkin with palladium hardware (I think it is, it is silver in colour) that is about 6-7 years old. I have noted recently that there are some black marks on the hardware. I tried to rub it off with tissue paper and I could only remove some of the marks but not all. The marks look like they are appearing from within...is this some kind of oxidisation? Anything I can do about this? Thank you so much in advance for your help.

It could be oxidisation as I've seen it on a Kelly handle hardware before. Best to take it back to H for fixing.

yes this is your best option the HW can be changed or fixed by hermes with time little details like this can happen and well its only natural so best thing is go cack and have it fixed .

This has been discussed quite a bit in other threads.
There were some batches of palladium that this happens with.
I have a couple of these and polish with a jewelers cloth. The black comes off with the jewelers polish, but it does reappear in time.
I am not going to the trouble to have hardware replaced, just keep polishing.
