Birthday HAUL at the Dooney and Bourke outlet in Aurora, Illinois…

my goodness.... I have absolutely NO will power. my eyes will not stop looking LOL
You can already see my collection has grown rapidly. Each and every purchase has been worth every penny to me. I have been very lucky and very fortunate to find some great deals... I don't go over my budget. I live by my motto *if it's available, all bills paid, my funds are available, and I sleep on it and it's still there in the morning, then it's meant for me to have...*
I am truly addicted to Florentine leather.

I want to go to ban island, one day.... maybe today is not that day... bidding ends tomorrow hee hee

Ban island can't keep a collector away from temptation.

To avoid falling off the wagon (or island) we need to stop reading
Dooney forums, stop viewing YT handbag videos, stay away from ebay, and delete all sale notifications without opening them. And that is just too much to ask.... how can we
give up the things that bring us so much pleasure? Even avoiding the sales
stuff, just thinking about the handbags and reading about them is often
dangerous.. For me, great sales are very hard to resist. And I'm very good
at justifying (to myself) why I needed to add that last handbag to my collection.
My GOD you are asking too much of me. Stop looking? Gasp the horror LOL
it really makes me happy to see all the bags. it’s like people watching only way better

Catching up on your thread. What a fantastic birthday week! I'm enjoying your new found Florentine love! Plus you are getting very good deals too and looking past the main retail sites. My sister loves Bath&body works and I sent her an early birthday from that awesome labor day sale.

So after I got off work, I drove to the outlet. Everything was 40% off and had an extra 20% off for the Labor Day sale, which ends today…I was really looking forward to this store as I've never been to a dooney outlet. The store was tiny, but they had all the new pebble leather satchels that came in Toledo florentine back in the day ( domed satchel, medium mail satchel, stanwich hobo) they were VERY beautiful and large. ..
so when I first walk in the store, on the table in front of me, was ALL the Florentine. Sigh they had ivy green, stunning color, in ALL the satchel sizes, from nano to large. But I wanted a large navy Florentine satchel as my birthday bag. And I was greeted by the 3 S.A.s. I told them I was there for my birthday bag. I immediately ask for every navy satchel in the back, the one on the shelf was handled/ scratches. She brought out 2 and both had smooth backs and textured fronts. Sigh then I see the small domed satchel in ivy. LOVED it! But I got it in chestnut $129 I see the Florentine fold over crossbody in ivy $119. had to have it with matching deluxe mo Zip wallet. Im circling the store looking at EVERYTHING and the S.A brought out the SMOOTHEST FLORENTINE NAVY SATCHEL ALL IN FACTORY WRAP. GOD IS SOOOOOOOO GOOD.
I got a card holder in black, small striped carrington, and a double zip wristlet completing my birthday HAUL… they gave me my first duck. I love EVERYTHING in my haul

I went to coach to look at bag charms and the line was out the door to get in…
You piqued my interest with all those gorgeous bags. God, it's been years since I've been at the Aurora Outlet. I typically drive up to the Pleasant Prairie Outlet. But they don't have Dooney, only Coach. Now I'm thinking I might wanna take a drive out that way. So I gotta ask, in particular the Florentine Satchel, are the prices cheaper at the outlet or are they the same as the D&B/ILD sites? Thanks!

It's 40% off the regular price at the outlet. I went during the Labor Day sale and it was an additional 20% off. For a whopping total 60% off. They had a few nano satchels on clearance. It was worth the drive to me.

The best part about going to the outlet is that you get to pick the bag you want. There won't be any guessing as to will your bag be smooth or pebbled, will you like it. You can try on the bags and test their weight, see how it fits under your arm. See if your phone fits in the outside pocket. See the actual size of the nano, micro, mini, small and large satchels. See the actual colors in person.

When I saw this video, I knew I HAD to go and see for myself. the link works it takes you to her YouTube

You are so right on that - about going in to the store to “try on” the bag. I’ve acquired 2 florentine satchels, 1 large in natural, and 1 micro in black. I got both off of ThredUp. The measurements on the listing for the black satchel were so incorrect , I thought I got the small satchel. When I received it, I measured it and compared those to the D&B site, and found out it was actually the micro. I love it, but the opening is very narrow, and it’s a tight fit with my wallet, eyeglasses, sunglasses, and small cosmetic bag.

Thanks for the video! I agree with her reason why she buys D&B now instead of luxury. Her point about going into the store is spot on - especially for the Florentine satchels, because there’s so many sizes! I’m dying for that chestnut color though.

But did you see her small navy, she called it mini but it was a small. It was sooooooo beautiful, I knew I wanted it for my birthday bag. I wanted to try the micro, first one I picked up and tried. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max. my phone took up the entire bottom of the bag laid flat. That was a no for me. Trying to get to my phone, while the bag was full of my junk, damn near impossible without emptying the bag. The opening was tiny and a hard no.

I saw the nano on the clearance table and took it for a spin around the store. It was so stinking cute, but not functional for me. I believe it was $159 on clearance. Even at that price, I wasn’t gonna get it if it didn’t work for me. The chestnut domed crossbody , I did get, was bigger, about the size of the micro, but the opening made all the difference. No flap to deal with, it fit my phone better, and I could see everything in my bag. It’s also not as heavy, because it doesn’t have all the hardware and handles. It’s perfect for a walking excursion or running quick errands. It was also cheaper than the nano that was on clearance…

I tried the mini. Again the opening was too small and it wouldn’t fit my iPad, which I take everywhere. I didn’t bother with the small as I have the one and it’s barely functional for me.

I own the largest 15 in long in chestnut AND steel blue and I love it. I have a small, 13 in long, in brown tmoro, and it’s tight getting to my junk and maneuvering my iPad 11 pro in and out. My birthday bag is the large 14 in navy. they changed the length of the largest size, and it’s great. It’s a little smaller than the older medium, the called the largest size back then, but it fits everything and I LOVE IT!

In my experience I absolutely love the chestnut color, and I didn’t think I would. It’s so rich and the red undertones make it really beautiful. It laughs at rain. It dries with no water spots and I haven’t treated it yet. I have the Apple rain guard but haven’t used it. Each bag I have in chestnut dries like the rain didn’t touch it. I have not carried any other color Florentine in the rain, since I know chestnut cam handle getting wet with no problems
