Maybe you should upgrade to 3 carats now? Haha! Can you show a picture of your 2.5 carats? For me to visualize. :)

Not martini because I have sensitive ears. The setting would be like this.
Here you go...not the best pic but you get the idea. I agree with texasgirliegirl..."diamond shrinkage". Ugh!
I've had these studs for several years...I never wear them. Not going to invest in anything bigger but 6 tcw would be nice!

Not my favorite but if they work for you, that's worth a look. Have you tried on stones of these dimensions in your ears to see if these sizes will work for you? If you're worried about that size being too large, it might be a good idea to go see how they actually look.
This is a good idea...try on CZ 4 tcw studs and see how they look. Also, have you tried the martini setting with elephant (ex-large) backs? The studs pictured are a 4 prong martini setting with the elephant backs and I find them very comfortable. The bigger backs help with the "droopy" look.

The 2.5 carats per ear is perfect on you! Why are you not wearing it? If only those were mine! Lol!

Mine are 1.4ct each and I did find them a little large at first but got used to them. I wear them 24/7.
I love the martinis because they sit flat against my ear, and also the jumbo backs keep them from drooping forward.

I would love the martinis but my ears are too sensitive. Sigh

The one you dont want/cant wear.

ame - why do you prefer the martini setting over the tradition 4 prong setting or basket setting?
I'm in the process of locating diamonds to upgrade my diamond studs. I presently have 1.25ct in each ear. I want to upgrade to 2.0ct in each ear. I have no experience with the martini setting and am interested in your opinion. [emoji4]

I, personally, prefer them because while the stone is securely set, you don't see the setting. All you see is the stone and the light gets to the stone.

Most 4-prong settings (unless they are 4-prong martinis, which you can get) are bulky and chunky and stick out and just do not look in any way elegant. Many of them are so bulky that they also droop very unattractively off the ear. So when you look at the stud, you see the setting, not the diamond and they block the light.

Thank you. I had not thought about the light factor. That alone is reason enough to choose the martini setting.[emoji1]

I have 2ct per ear studs & they are in the traditional 4 prong baskets, but they are made to be low profile & sit beautifully on the ear.I have the large backs on them to prevent them from drooping forward. I also have a pair of 1ct per ear studs in martini settings & I find that they make the holes in my ears sore as I have a habit of always pushing the backs on tight in case I loose them!

I agree with AME...more light saturation. I have the 4 prong martini setting and suggest that for larger stones. While the 3 prong is still my favorite I wanted the extra security and the studs still look good.

I wear martini set. I prefer them since the hole in my ear is ever so slightly stretched and I can really secure these in and they don't stick out too much...I like mine as flush as I can get! I also have screw backs since they are in 24/7.
