Beware: Best faked bags in the market

Also despite their claims that their bags are indistinguishable from the authentic ones, they seem to report being called out an awful lot. :confused1: I love that there was one Asian girl who kept claiming that people were calling her out because of racism and she made up some crazy story about how her boss gave her the birkin for good performance. Lol. Yeah, likely story. Your boss played the Hermes game because you needed a year end bonus??? Btw, I am about as Asian as they come and I have never in my entire life had anyone insinuate my bags aren’t real.

I really wanted to reply - just a thought, maybe people aren’t calling out your bags out of racism, maybe it is because they are indeed fake.

I’m not sure the big labels are regretting moving manufacturing to cheaper places like China. Even though they’re facilitating the replica industry by making authentic goods more accessible, their profit margins are larger (esp with the astronomical price increases). And finally, I believe they realize that the better the fakes get, the more it drives people who desire the “real” thing to buy directly from boutique.

Lots of people have said on this thread they would never buy secondhand anything again. Maybe this is actually the label’s way of combating the rise of the secondhand market and the rise of replicas.

It is a risky game they play.

Not too familiar with other brands, but Chanel and especially Hermes make it pretty difficult to find and obtain the bags you want in the boutique. The secondhand market capitalizes on customers who either don't have access to a local boutique or are tired of playing the waiting game for a specific bag. The secondhand market will sell you the bag you're looking for at a huge markup, whereas the replica market attracts a different type of customer who isn't willing to pay the exorbitant prices for the genuine thing.

I understand why people would seek for Chanel/Hermes replicas but I've seen Chloe replicas, Burberry replicas...If you calculate the cost of the bag plus shipping, those replicas would cost at least $150-200 in total. Wouldn't it be better to spend a few hundreds more and get an authentic bag?

"Despite its lookalike packaging and seemingly high quality materials, this bag was the product of a sophisticated $22 million-plus counterfeit operation that was being carried out in France, right under the nose of the Hermès, the closely-guarded stalwart luxury brand known for its meticulously-crafted leather goods, silk scarves, and saddlery."

Europeans also make fakes and hellooo, guess where the best ones are made....

So based on this article, it stated that Hermes employees were manufacturing the bags with leather and authentic hardware that they stole from Hermes, right? They weren't using the hardware as models to fashion their own molds? So wouldn't that technically be considered a black market bag and not counterfeit since they essentially were exporting the same pieces that would be used in house and constructing them elsewhere?

I'd definitely pay more for peace of mind! But to those who can't even afford the real thing, a few hundred will matter. Even bad replica LV and Coach bags have saturated the market due to the price disparity .

This is why I refuse to buy preloved even if it’s from a company that specializes in preloved goods like Rebag. Preloved is not nearly steep enough of a discount anymore to be worth it. I’d rather have peace of mind and pay a bit more for something I know 100% is authentic.
To me, buying luxury means not buying used goods, which is why I buy from the boutiques.

I’m being told that people bought unwillingly fake Kors ,Lauren ,Hilfiger, Spade and what not. I can’t see where is the profit there.?!?!

OMG this thread has been an eye opener! Thank you for starting it. I've been searching second hand because I know I will never make to pre-spend to get a Kelly from the boutique. Now I will never get one second hand either! I'm so glad that there is a forum on Reddit that allows talk of fake bags. I'll try to find it but if anyone is able to post even a "hint" or part of the name of the reddit forum I think it would be a public service to many people.

People can find the reddit forum by typing into google - "reddit forum fake bags"

Those who've been around/seen the crazy rich asians behaviour would disagree. I'm not really sure why you think rich asians play the hermes games. You should watch the crazy rich asian movie, maybe. It's not far from what is happening at the major asian cities. I mean, these people go to europe and buy a football club. You think they give their staff keychains as souvenir??

I think you missed the whole point of her comment

I live in Toronto and there’s an Asian mall here that before the pandemic had boutiques that sold super fakes—right on the shelves in the open. Yup! I mentioned this in the H forum before. When I walked around town and saw someone with hard to get bags, I often wondered if they were real or not but really couldn’t tell.
Weren’t they shut down again? Or did they slowly open back up?
