Ok. Here's one that is very casual looking. This is an archive photo and because I matched my sweater it might not show up well. View attachment 3260275
I will hopefully try this today pbp, it has that casual, "I just threw it on look", that I strive for and rarely achieve lol!!Yes. I fold it in half as a rectangle. Then I hold two corners diagonally across from each other and fold it that way. Like you are going to do an asymmetric fold. Then I just grab it in the middle and squeeze it together there. Put it around your neck and tie just once. It never comes out the same way twice so sometimes you have to play a little. I think I copied this from arabesques but I might have just totally confused what she was doing and ended up with something different. I think grabbing/ gathering it in the middle is the important step.
A great rendition of it pirula!Right. So here's my rendition of PbP's asymmetric fold. As you can see, not as nice. But it's proof it's a nice way to show contrast hems, even when you mess it up.

Very smart idea with this design scarf1...I absolutely love this design but could never get it as the center was too pale on me...but this is a great way to highlight the border!I specifically bought a mai tai shawl ring to showcase my fav part of Voyage de P. -

Bova knot should work fine. Love that assumeyric knot! Going to have to experiment!

Thanks for starting this thread momasaurus! I love a contrast hem, and find that all of the knots already mentioned and pictured do work really well. I am attaching a couple of pictures of the knots already mentioned to give a visual. I think the way the one side fans out on arabesque's knot really showcases a contrast hem. Plus the pleated fold with a shawl ring or even just tied is one I use often, plus it is super easy. Pictured here on both a 90 and a 70! (of course the 70 is secured with a regular scarf ring). All archive pics...sorry![]()
