That sounds tiring..! Yes I speak Korean =) do you? Hurry up and get to 10 posts so I can pm you ;) what day are you arriving in dec?

Haha yeah I do speak Korean! Better with English though lol. Uh I'm thinking around about leaving the U.S on dec 15th and go consulting on the 17th. When will you be there? Haha yeah sorry I'm more of a silent reader! I don't have anything to post about lol!

hi gals. I planning to Korea to have my nose job done around 7-21Oct and looking for companion as we can share accommodation, transportation, Korean translator fees and help taking care each other. It really save a lot $$ on the trip.
i have contacting 3 korean translator. Zoe-fully book, while another two Im waiting for their reply. Banobagi, dream, regen, starline and maybe cinderella are the clinics i would like to visit n consult be i went in to surgery.
HI Tatias,

Besides Zoe, can you share with me the other 2 translator that you have contacted? I have only read about Zoe, and probably one other girl (whom i cant remember her name now..)

thanks heaps!

Hi Emisa,

I totally agree with Tooney. Your nose looks nice and natural now. :) Don't meddle with your nose when there's nothing wrong with it now.
I had rhino 3x not because I was nothing happy with the results, but due to implant deviation. And I was very traumatised by the whole process.
My friend who is a doctor told me that the nose tend to get weaker and weaker everytime we revise.
I pray that I dont have to do another revision anymore.

Hi Oceanbelle,
Thanks for sharing. I will keep that in mind when I do the consult next year. :D

Hi Emisa,

Do you have Zoe's contact number?

Hi Angiebellex,

I could only share Zoe's email contact here. THis was how I communicated with her in the beginning. I asked for her contact no. before setting off to Seoul just so my hb could get in touch with her, when she is taking care of me and when I am not in the condition to speak.

Her email is [email protected]. She is away for holiday till this week I think.
She usually respond to me on the same day after 10pm Singapore time base on my experience.

Emisa thank u for sharing everything u looked really great^^ btw u've mentioned that you still have a stiff expression... How does it look when you laugh ? Would you mind to take a picture of u smiling ?

Hi Babyrose,

Thanks..:smile1:

The stiff expression was the worst in the first 2 weeks. But I am post one month and I am seeing my upper teeth now when I smiled. I enjoyed taking pics now, and I tot I look ok, till I stand besides hb and my gal, I realised my smile is still not exactly ok. It takes bit of effort to stretch yr mouth to smile and there seemed to be a limitation to how big a grin u cld do. Or maybe I am just very careful with my cheekbone as well.

So, to take a solo pic from my current state, I look normal when I smile. BUT when you stand besides someone, and a third party just snapped without waiting for you to adjust yr smile which will take a few more seconds, you will see the contrast of facial expression between you and yr partner on the photo.

Unfortunately, my Korean is quite limited. I'm actually leaving from Canada, by the way would you happen to have kakaotalk haha

Wow thank you so much for writing that detailed post about what to eat, it's very helpful to a lot of people (and me) who are going to Korea for Ps in the future! :D

Thanks, apples..I really hope I could be of some help to you all.

Heya.

I guess u went thru what I made myself go thru as well - slow healing, rush decision, obligated.

I still feel remorseful choosing BK as I was challenging time too. I was cryin regret after paying deposit and not to mention the wrong surgeon (I still cant believe Sha**77 raved him...?!)

Though one month into my surgery, my nostrils r still uneven from swelling and my right eye squints assymetrically due to stiff stitching from the lateral corner. I started tapping gently on the corner from the 3rd week and saw slight improvement - right eye is opening up - and I still use a warm pack occassionally n tapping it as much as I can (but gently ok).

I must say that your post-op stay in Seoul was way too rushed. I had partial stitches removed on the 7th day until the 10th and 12th. Send your concern to the surgeon via your consultant to seek advice.

In all, pressuring a patient to commit the surgery cos "there's a free slot in the surgeon's schedule tomorrow" is a BIG NO NO. An hr on the surgeon's calendar does not equate adequacy for your 2-hr surgery - thus the abrupt and brutal operation. I observed their malpractise through my experience so advising ppl not to be stacked in between patients. A morning appointment is also better than an afternoon one.

Please remember: "Patience is a virtue". A rushed operation always ends in regret. Give yourself ample time to rationalise your decision. Its your face n $ afterall.

* I am still praying for a positive result... :)

Well said, Eightbelow. THis advice can't be more valuable from someone who has been there done that. Please remember, peepers.

No dear...That shouldn't be the first rule. If you read past pages, you would find a debate between Shane and HKP on this topic. Then, I wasn't sure who is right. Anyway, since I have intention to book Zoe and would also want to be on the safe side, I decided to call 1-2 clinics to check if they do pay commission if I bring along a translator and the replies were "no".

I asked Zoe about this issue as well. She told me that she did not collect any commission. IMO, I think even if she collects commission, I am alright coz like what Gingercandy said, the clients must hv justified the pricing to choose the clinic. I can't quote word by word but something along that line, Ginger? Is it or did I get it wrong?

Take my case for example. I find that the price of 16.5millionKRW is justifiable in my case coz it invloves cheekbone, mandible, full face fat graft and revised rhino with alar plasty. Infact, I did not get this price myself. It was through Zoe's help to negotiate. She explained that coz she happened to work there before and is in the senior position. The consultant is already telling us no more reduction after reducing to 17millionKRW. She kept saying no no, sorry, last price. Too much...Zoe left to look for the head and came back with a discount to final price of 16.5m. Like I mentioned before, she bargained as if she was the one paying. So, as long as I find it reasonable, I really do not care if ZOe gets a cut. Infact, I would be happy if she does coz the translation charge is so low, taking into account the effort and time she spent. I felt so bad that I decided to pay more in my own accord. I choose to use my conscience to think in someone's position. Someone who is making an honest living. Its people's livelihood..

I asked her why didn't she ask clinics for commission. She explained that it is not her personality to push a person to a clinic of her choice coz she understands its PS, and its impact on individual. She just can't bring herself to do that. She was depressed during that period esp when the accusation is not true. N people were forming different opinions tt she could not control while she really used her sincerity to help people. Worst, this job is her livelihood and she gets business through word of mouth. Could you imagine the possible adverse impact, should everyone swayed to that belief.

Kudos to your great bargaining prowess. But my deal is not too bad though not negotiated by me personally. I did use few other forumers' prices in different clinics and ID as reference though. Cheers. :D

Hi Emisa,

Thanks for your quick reply! much appreciated :) hmm, that should be the right email then..i think i have emailed her about 3 weeks ago with no reply, thats why i thought i'd check with you girls again. Do you have any one else to recommend in case she is busy or doesnt think she can help me?

I am planning on doing my eyes. some doctors have recommended the incision method for a double lid, but dr kang from IOU said that my condition is ptosis.
that is why i think i will need to go for a few consultations and i speak no korean at all.

Hi Angiebellex,

I am not sure if its in the spam box? Coz even though we never meet in the past, she will still revert the same day, though she sounded so official. Let me drop her a mail to check her spam box. You might want to indicate the subject as "Translation service" to avoid going into spam? I am just guessing.

Yes, you need to visit at least 3 coz its eyes. It will change your look and you need to be prudent. Ask for their recommendation and reason to support their recommendation and diagnosis. I learnt now..

Some clinics do have English/Chinese consultant too.

HI, another two girls I have heard of are:

1. Hanna Jeong ([email protected]) and
2. Nicole ([email protected])

I am planning to meet up with Hanna this October, and I have heard NIcole is good. Although I haven't met either of them. I'm pretty sure they both do care and translating service. Zoe was busy for the time I was going

Hope that helps
