I have problem with my thumbs getting extremely painful cracks in them in the winter. You'd be amazed how important our opposable thumbs are (in addition to our evolution as a species, LOL!), and how we don't even think about when we use them. I have been searching for years for something that might prevent this. I can;t even zip up my pants without pain, and sometimes making the cracked skin bleed!
I'll have to check this out, thank you!
Ok, so my order arrived in like 2-3 days. It was pretty quick and they packaged it well too. It does give me the sticky feeling right when I put it on but I expected that; just like unrefined shea butter (which also works great!) The sticky feeling only lasts for a little while. Afterwards, my hands felt really soft but at the same time they feel as if they have a protective layer. My hands still do get dry during the day ( I normally apply the lotion at night) but I think that although they're dry, they still have that 'protective' layer. I use to get papercuts at work like crazy, seriously, everyday. I haven't gotten any lately. It's been about 2 weeks. So great find shushopn! Thanks for sharing it with us!!
I tried it in the Camille scent. It's pretty good and does the job of keeping my hands moisturized at night while I sleep. However, I have to say that it's no better than the current hand cream that I was using - Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Hand Creme. They're both good and I'd rather stick to Eucerin as it's cheaper and readily available at my local drugstore.
Both Camille and Eucerin feel rather sticky after putting the cream on which is ok for night use. But during the day, I need something that does as good a job as my night hand cream but absorbs quickly without feeling greasy. I use La Mer Hand Treatment every day and it's absolutely wonderful! However, I wish it wasn't so pricey!
I know this sounds goofy, and I don't know if it is still sold and made, but I remember years ago I used something called "Cornhusker's Lotion" (I know), and I think it is pure glycerin, those farmers' hands get pretty rough, so I bet it works well (I can't remember how it worked it was so long ago) I may Google around and see if it is still made - i bought it in drugstores...
- I know, not very sexy-sounding, hehe, but hey, if it works...
Who cares what the name is as long as it works!
