I recently took my medium saddle PS1 on a trip and marveled at what a great travel bag it was. Lightweight, stylish yet discrete, I could fit all I needed in it (even my tiny DSLR). I ended up being blown away by its convenience, and I got many compliments. BUT, at a restaurant I saw a women with her Balenciaga city, and I couldn't help but missing mine! I simply never take my speedy anywhere these days, it is a beautiful and very practical bag, but I have it in monogram and find it too obvious these days.

I love this topic :) I know its not a crossbody but I love my huge longchamp bag as a lightweight carry on. Then I can fold it up when I dont need my carry on bag.

Ive had a rocco and agree with the other poster it was so heavy and kind of awkwardly juts out when worn with the shoulder strap so I sold it.

Have you considered a velo? They are a bit heavy but fit heaps if you like to carry a lot.

Im selling my velo though for a city. Im going to try using my velo strap on my city bag when it arrives to see how it looks as I love city size but want crossbody :/

My vote would be Speedy :) I think zippable and fairly waterproof are the main things to consider but I love hearing other suggestions too

Here are some pictures of a water bottle in my Bloomsbury PM. The pictures are a front view, side view, the bottle standing up and the bottle laying across the bottom. I hope this helps!

Thank you so much for taking time to take pictures! :ty:

The water bottle doesn't change the shape at all. Bloomsbury is such a beautiful bag. It doesn't sag like Speedy. Ah...decision decision....:push:

I agree with the nylon bag suggestion. They're lightweight, wipeable, packable. The Bloomsbury is a good choice if you're going with LV, though.

I don't think they make the GM anymore but if you need more room than the PM you can track one down through a consigner or eBay.

Hmmm....Maybe I should get a PS1 and Speedy-B and then forget about Celine this year.

Are you happy about the quality of your PS1? With a coupon I can get a new PS1 from ****** for a few hundred dollars less than the retail price. But the PS Customer Service doesn't recognize bags purchased from ****** because it is not an authorized retailer. If I buy a bag from ****** I have to hope that it will never need repair. Do you believe things like hardware falling off can happen?

PM is a good size for me. I am petite. Will you choose Bloomsbury over a Speedy 25-B DE? The upcoming re-design of Speedy potentially means another price increase. Should I snap a Speedy before that happens?

I bought a Longchamp for my aunt as a Christmas present but I myself never own one. :smile1: I need to get one for myself.

I used to be a one-bag girl but recently discovered my love for designer handbags. Now I am about halfway through the list of bags that I want to own. Still a long way to go. :p

Speaking of Balenciaga, Velo is too big for me. The strap will also be too long for my height.

For travelling I'd go for an LV Speedy DE Bandou, but I wouldn't take the 25 size as I find it really tiny. I actually prefer the looks of the Proenza Schouler PS1 in Medium, but only the DE is suitable for all weathers (even pouring rain).

What about a vintage LV Mono Saumur? Crossbody as well and with a vintage you don't have to worry about rain either as it will have a developed Patina. The closures aren't as easy to open as the zipper of the speedy, but that might also be a good thing against pick pockets

when i travel especially overseas i like to use nylon bags for a tote i use a Longchamp and crossbody i use this Tumi bag i think is called "Capri" for some reason i dont feel comfortable carrying my premier bags but i do bring one of my clutches tho for going out to dinner..

I'd be wary of carrying anything really expensive while traveling, because it makes you a mark for thieves, especially when you carry logo bags. Just get something light and ideally, a cross body, which you can stuff into a carry-on tote. Maybe bring one nice bag for dinners out, but if you plan to shop or sightsee, the small, light bag will be so much easier.

I use two bags for travel, depending on where I'm going:

1. For more physical activities during a trip, I bring my Kipling crossbody. Style name is Reth. I love how it has so many compartments.

2. For sightseeing in the city, I use the Rebecca Minkoff MAC. Big enough to carry the essentials.

Thanks everybody for the wonderful suggestions and introductions to bags that I didn't know about! I have decided to purchase a Speedy 25-B DE due to the upcoming redesign and a potential price increase.

I eventually want to own a PS1 medium but need to research more on the colors, fading issues, new vs. preloved, and the best online retailer to purchase if I decide to get a new one.

By the way MZ Wallace have bags that are cute, practical and reasonably priced. I will need to get a quilted nylon bag. ;)

DE is great for stain-free, all-weather use and it's relatively lightweight. I agree that if you're going to a place where you might encounter pickpockets and/or robbers if would be better to carry something more discreet. Some people bring foldable totes to toss their fancier bags in when they go to such places but you'll probably won't have the space to carry one of those in a 25.
