Gerard Darel and Francesco Biasia. I have the GD Charlotte and the FB Paradise Mix
Sorry to turn this to me, but I am on a mission to find out where people are getting their Gerard Darel! Would love to see one in person and from what I've heard, it is next to impossible in North America.:confused1:

As for the birthday present, it depends on what she uses a purse for. GD "Charlotte", actually called Drape (with an accent aigue on the "e") is a great SIMPLE, unpretentious, functional purse. It's great for a student who needs to carry books, commuters with books and water bottles, and anyone who carries STUFF.
Not to Poo-Poo those gorgeous Coach bags, but the ones under $400 often only carry lipstick!

Nah, I have a lot of Coach bags for under $400 that hold a lot of stuff.

I think the Gerald Darel bags are a bit easier to find in the US now in comparison to when they first got popular. I know there were a few stores in the NYC area that carried them. If you search the forum, you may be able to find out what stores they were as I remember a thread on this a while back.

You may want to ck ebay as well.

Under $400? I am a fan of Kenneth Cole and I've seen some nice bags of his as of late. Ck Zappos.com. I agree with some of the other posters in saying that BCBG has some nice bags as well. I'm thinking the BCBG not BCBG Girls line.

Bluefly.com may even have some high end bags (Prada etc.) for under $400. Worth cking out!

Is Cole Haan too "mature" for her? They are a great value and most are under $400. The leather is sooo nice. I don't want to offend anyone, but there are so many Coach bags out there, I like some of the other ideas presented by the posters in this thread.

If your sister likes slouchy bags I would recommend something from Tano:

Luna Boston | Browse for Tano

They are well within your price range and I have my eye on 2 or more of these bags. I like the Pin Up Medium Shoulder bag, The Scoop Large Shoulder bag and the Minilisa Shoulder bag in particular. I like the fact that most of the bags come in a quite a few colors.

I don't currently own a Tano bag but have read raves about them and their leather here. This is definitely a brand on my wish list. Peggy

If she's 20, consider getting her a Juicy Couture bag. This season they have some really nice leather ones, and Juicy is marketed towards that age range.

This Betsey Johnson bag is my favorite bag under $400 right now. It's on sale at zappos.com right now too.
