Really dislike michael kors and rebecca minkoff - why am I paying to display their logos everywhere?! Big fan of mansur gavriel, marni, issara, and matt and nat. They're less known but beautiful designs and quality with a nice ethical touch.
Uhh.. Rebecca Minkoff doesn't have her logos everywhere... it's very subtle compared to MK. Her name is written in very small font on the zipper pulls that no one will notice unless they look closely. Even her lining doesn't have her name either (just on the nameplate/patch by the pocket).

I agree. MK also has more to offer than logo bags, and the hang tag is removable on most if not all of the bags.

Yes, I have, but Coach is still considered a mid-range designer brand. It is also over-saturated which is why many people will not be willing to shell out over $1000 for a Coach bag. I appreciate that Coach is trying to improve their game, but I still doubt most most people will spend over $1000 on one of their bags. Coach hurt their own brand name by making sub-par bags for the outlet and over-saturating the market. It will take them years to dig themselves out of that hole IMO.

Louis Vuitton canvas handbags are over saturated too but people still enjoy them. Some of the new Coach handbags do have luxury quality and are definitely worth as much as a canvas speedy or Neverfull because they are 100% high quality leather.
I love Louis Vuitton and I have spent thousands upon thousands on my LV collection but that does not negate the quality of a contemporary brand.
My point is just like LV has entry level handbags to high end handbags so does Coach.
I would never spend $1000 on a Coach outlet bag but some of the newer styles have craftsmanship worthy of $1000.
Why knock any brand if it's great quality. Everyone has different tastes and that's ok.

The difference is that Louis Vuitton is a luxury brand while Coach is considered a second tier design house. MOST do not see Coach as being on par with LV hence why they will pay $1000 for an LV as opposed to Coach. Craftsmanship has nothing to do with it. It's about perception. If that's the route that Coach is trying to go in, good luck to them. It is going to take a LONG time before anyone sees Coach as a luxury brand of par with Louis Vuitton if ever.

I am not so sure. If you read luxury designers threads you see that more and more people give up on Prada, Chanel and others because of their ridiculous rising price- falling quality conflict. LV has specifically put itself in troubles by overproduction. It is too common nowadays. Chanel can go and wistle too giving the fact that they offer the very same bag for decades, it is boring and outdated. At this point Coach has a chance (and in the nearest future) to break a wall into designers party. Celebrities wear Coach , so Coach already has one foot on the door step. All Coach needs to do is to determine its unique style and keep the great quality of its high price line.

No one EVER said Coach was on par with Louis Vuitton. Learn to read before you comment on something I said.

I hope Coach never tries to do or be anything that LV is or does! Coach has nicer bags than LV now.

Just a question... Who and how actually defines which brand is luxury and which is not? Chanel has been speculating for a long long time claiming their superity by using ancient ideas without introducing anything new to their customers. New generation does not worship Chanel like the previous ones, Chanel will take nosedive very soon.( it is already happening)
