Best and worst quality Contemporary brands?

But back to contemporary brands - I like Henri Bendel for contemporary. I love the stripey motif on their dustbags and the brand itself. I only have one bag but I'm considering some SLGs. For quality, I've had no problems with my bag and love that it has so many pockets inside.

I love HB too! My friend has a phone wallet she's been using for over a year and it's holding up really nicely, considering she uses it everyday and stuffs it with her IDs, cash, cards - everything.

I really like Longchamp quality, especially in their leather bags, but their prices are outrageous.

I agree that sometimes I wish the American pricepoint were lower, especially when you see how much cheaper it is in France. I would say try to shop overseas. Luckily, they also have outlets, and if you're coupon savvy like my mother (I wish I had her skills!) you can get into special sales and whatnot.

Are you are Chanel shareholder?
Why do you feel the need to defend them?

Chanel and LV were first mentioned in this thread by other Bag Snobs. This thread is about contemporary brands but you guys took it there. :p

No but I love the brand, don't need to be a shareholder. Just like some of you have defended coach. I assume it's for the same reasons.

And I like contemporary brands too. HB and Marc by Marc (even though discontinued) are/were some of my favorite mid-range brands.

I like Coach. I have a small bag from Coach and it good quality but craftsmanship isn't good if you can see a piece of paper stuck sewn on the seam of the strap. lol

I have wallet from them too. Best purchase I made from Coach. I would not hesitate to buy another wallet from Coach. But next time the interior need to be leather lined. [emoji39]

I agree with the bolded part, people always forget that not everyone's opinion will be the same as their own and are often defensive when someone's opinion challenges their own, most of us are that way! Even within my own collection, I compare some of my premier designer bags to my contemporary ones even though they are on two different levels and there are expected to be differences, otherwise why would I pay so much for some and so little for others?

Also, MBMJ is one of my favourite contemporary designers and also one of the only brands where I can buy a pebbled bag with no fears about the quality! The bags are so comfortable and fit against me perfectly. Plus I've never had an issue with the quality.

Being European it is hard to get American contemporary bags here.
There are only a few online stores that sell coach! I had a coach Eddie turnlock, but I had to return it after one week because the hardware in gunmetal was chipping! I liked the leather and the construction of the bag but chipping hardware was nothing that I had ever seen before.

I like Bree! It is a german brand and I love their quality and their design. I also like Coccinelle and Furla but I dislike Liebeskind. It looks already beaten up when you buy it!
I also own some leather MCM which are fine in quality and Aigner Munich - which I really like a lot!
I used to like Mandarina Duck, it was an original Italian company from Bologna, but the company was sold and now the bags are low quality

Agreed, I have family and friends in Europe who go absolutely crazy shopping when they come here due to the differences in price as well as the selection.

Funny, because to Americans it's the same with Europe! Even with the Euro to dollar conversion, the European prices for European contemporary brands like Longchamp are better. When you also deduct the VAT…[emoji7][emoji7]

That's terrible! I've had good luck with their hardware - but I only ever buy silver-toned hardware, as all my jewelry is silver-toned. Hope you have better luck with non-gunmetal!

I like Bree, too, and have two of them. [emoji4]
