Lets chat about the beauty products and brands you fell out of love with this year.

YSL Touche Éclat concealer pen, foundation, and Souffle powder. I now love Sisley Phyto Teint Éclat foundation, Chanel loose powder, and Gucci concealer pen. I will continue to use YSL mascara but that's it.

Tom Ford: Over priced. There are products just as good for a lot less.
Giorgio Armani: Too many formulation changes, most of their best products are discontinued.
Burberry: Lackluster products.

Origins skincare, did not nothing for my skin. Loreal, they test on animals (as I have heard).

Just recently I cleared out my beauty cabinet of all American made skincare products, for more gentle brands from Korea and a few European brands. They seem to be much better for my skin

Yes I've always loved French/European products. I know I'm a USA citizen and should support the US however the US is inferior to a lot of things compared to other countries including skin care. We are waaaay behind...

Switching out of all beauty brand facial oils (Tarte, Fresh, L'Occitane, etc) for ones from reliable essential oil companies that source their own "organic" raw ingredients and combine them so they are fresh without typical fillers and preservatives. I also mix my own oils. Price wise its astronomically more expensive to DIY, we are talking ingredients that can cost upwards of $80+ for 2-5 milliliters, but that's the real cost of pure botanical ingredients and most beauty companies cannot make a profit unless the quantities used are really small (way down the list of ingredients).

I currently use and like Immortelle Cleansing Dew from Floracopeia as a skin oil which is admittedly strong scented because it has so much botanical ingredients but they are: 100% Organic & Wild Jojoba infused with Essential Oils of Wild Corsican Helichrysum, Wild Lavender, Rose Geranium, Cistus, Laurel, Ylang Ylang, & Rhododendron, Floralchemy Flower Essences.

I quit the entire Chanel skin care, makeup and mascara lines. I've switched to Rodan and Fields for skin care, no longer use foundation (because of the switch) and Urban Decay mascara.

I've also quit MAC which was a hard one for me but I made a decision to personally support cruelty free companies.

Quit SK-II. Didn't replace it with anything, I just use my same old Burt's Bees face wash and don't deal with the whole'process'.
Quit most high end brands - Chanel, Lancôme, YSL. Use Pacifica instead [cruelty free and non irritating]. Mostly just used eye products, and all the high end brands were causing me issues.
I used to like Bare Minerals, but they have started irritating my skin/causing breakouts. So now I just do low maintenance skin care and don't deal with face makeup.

I really wanted to like NARS but I have had it with their lids detaching from my single eyeshadows and blushes. For this reason, I have gone back to MAC. Their packaging is a bit more solid.

In general, I'm doing my best to switch over to organic/natural based products but the following would be kicked to the curb even if they were:

Tom Ford cosmetics: They were just "ehhh" for me especially for the price point.

Anastasia eyeliner: A dry mess that required waayyyyyyyyy to much tugging on my eyes to get this on .

Benefit cosmetics: No matter the shade, it appears ashy on my skin. Not cool.

Laura Mercier. They suggested a concealer then insisted I also buy a brush to put it on with. The concealer caked badly so I brought it back and they said tough luck, no return because you have used it.

If that was Bobbi Brown or Clinique they would happily change it for an alternative product without question.

I am switching to more natural and organic makeup and skincare. I am loving May Lindstrom, Kjaer Weis, Well People, and the like. It is so fun to try all new brands and feel like they are great for my skin and overall health.
