Bearn vs Kelly wallets

I completely understand how you feel. Practicality over beauty just can't be matched and impossible to choose one over the other (in my case anyway lol). Put it this way, we both know you will end up with both Bearn and Kelly wallet sooner or later. So if I were you, whatever wallet that caught my eyes (heart) and offered first, I'll get that one and get the other type later on, whenever that may be. :smile1:

You're so right! I think I'll go bonkers trying to decide one over the other. They're both lovely and I'd be so happy with either. I'm always been a big believer of love at first sight. :p Let's see which comes first. :smile1:

Yes! This is right on! :)

I have two Bearns. When I got the first one I went in looking for a Kelly, but once I played with it for a bit, I realized that for me, it's not practical. I think it only looks nice with the straps fastened, and I would feel awkward trying to get it out and ready in all the times that I'm rushing to pay or am trying to pay and restrain my kids. The Bearn is so so easy and usable! For something I use every day, often multiple times, I think the fuss of the Kelly straps would make me crazy. I do love how it looks, though!

Fabfashion: so ur hubby is agree with u. Tell him to get u a K and u get a B for urself! Hehe
LeTed, sorry I'm just seeing this now. I'm getting ready for our trip to Miami in 2 weeks. Hope to stop by the H store there and see what they have. But love your idea of my DH getting me a K and me getting myself a B. :giggles: Our store here has nothing...nada! So I'm patiently waiting and hoping my trip will be successful. Wish me luck!

I have both kelly long wallets and a trifold bearn.

If you do not carry a lot, a bearn might be better. It is more compact and the strap bit is slightly less fiddly.

For someone like me, who carries a lot of cards and other bits and pieces in my wallet, I definitely prefer the KLW. Not only do they fit more, I prefer a wallet with an accordian style opening (the bearn opens out flat, baring everything I have in my wallet to the world :sweatdrop:). Also, my original concern about the KLW straps being too fiddly is no longer there, its like second nature to me now

Hi Am new here, just wondering how am i able to buy a kelly long wallet? It seems out of stock everywhere.
If you're in the US, a couple came up just in the past week on H.com. You pretty much need to check daily and several times a day. They're gone in a blink!

You should also mention to your local H SA to let you know when one comes in. All else fails, try ebay and resellers--just make sure you get it authenticated in the authentication thread first. G'luck & welcome! :D

I don't think trifold bearn wallets are made anymore- only bifold- according to my SA from yesterday.

csetcos, I think it may turn out to be 2 wallets down the road. One may not meet all my needs although I wish it would as I'd hate to have to switch wallets all the time. I'm hoping to get a Kelly wallet first (it's just so pretty) and a Bearn later. But lately I've been seeing croc Bearn on various sites and they're simply gorgeous.

LeTed, that's great to know that a Kelly wallet fits an iPhone too. Makes it so much more practical and I can justify it to DH. ;) I mentioned getting a K wallet to DH last night and that it can also be used as a clutch/evening bag--so useful. He kinda nodded which I'm taking as agreement. :sneaky:

cr1stalangel, my practical side is totally with you on the Bearn. When I see the pics, I really like the look--so elegant. But I'm a little torn because the K can be used as a clutch which in reality I'll probably won't utilize that often but a nice option to have.

What to do, what to do? :thinkin:

Just curious, do most of you with both B and K wallets switch wallets regularly and how often? I mean changing wallet to match your bag color-wise or changing from B one day to K on another and vice versa depending on your needs. I don't mean using a K as a clutch just daily wallet.

I have a Kelly wallet in an exotic and I do find the straps a little fiddly. That said, it is so aesthetically striking that I find myself often lost in reverie just looking at it. I have used it on occasion and agree that given its loveliness and slightly time-consuming lock, it's better shown off as a clutch. Until I get myself a proper Kelly Cut :graucho:.

Your K wallet is stunning! Sometimes form trumps function when it comes to H. :p

Your wallet is gorgeous. I have same one in black and really would like to use it as a clutch. Do you? I got chain for it to use it as a bag as well. I just can't fathom leaving it inside the bag! It's so shiny and beautiful!
