I remember admiring each of those bags when they were new at Nordstrom or perhaps I. Magnin in San Francisco. They were very pricey! I had to limit my purchases to one good bag per year, and only bought during sales. I wore Bally shoes, also very expensive, but had to limit my spending on those as well. Loved the incredible quality -- you can see that it speaks for itself and ensures that the bags remain timeless.

Do you by chance have any idea the approximate year these 2 of mine were produced?? I love history (especially of bags!) so I would love to know!

Sorry, Skip, I can't remember. I lived in SF in the 80s and 90s, so within those decades. Wish I could tell you more. Perhaps there's a Bally resource somewhere on the web. I'll try to find one.

Ok I have 2 more I just acquired!! Same purse in black and brown. :yahoo: The seller of one of them on ebay said she thought hers was purchased between 95-97. I love them they are so soft!

Wow - those are gorgeous! Good for you! I'm so glad to hear everyone is raving about Bally's leather quality...I'm contemplating one on eBay. They look really good and I love the idea of buying vintage in good shape!

Thanks!! You should totally buy one! When I carry those purses I just pet them constantly because they are so soft.

I did! I just got this on eBay - I can't wait to get it! :yahoo: I had been wanting to get something similar to a Chanel flap and this is exactly what I wanted! I think the quilting detail is even prettier than Chanel, and at 1/10 the price!

Oh congrats! I love that bag! That is actually the one more Bally bag I'd like to get. I have heard they are so soft. Perhaps you can pretty please post a modeling shot when you get it?! I've never seen one on.

Hey there - got my Bally and LOVE it. So soft and very practical with the different ways to carry it. So impressed with the quality. Wish I could learn more about Bally, but they don't seem too popular on tPF :confused1: Sorry the crossbody pic is fuzzy but I think you get the idea!

Yay!! Thanks for posting your photos! It looks great on you and is definitely a gorgeous bag. Hopefully I can snag one like that one day! Yes it is interesting that they are not talked about on tpf. :thinkin:
