I also love this thread--
Those of you that are knowledgable need to help me--I cannot decide between the City and the Velo. We don't have any shops around here- Chicago is the nearest Barneys--
which is still a trip--
Any help with size comparisons is greatly appreciated!! I am meeting with the SA at Nordstrom who is going to sit down with me and show what they have available--

can someone please give the exact measurement of a city strap? I own a rh velo but strap is really too long, so I want to make it shorten form a cobbler, thank thank thank in advance!!

i'm planning to buy my 1st bbag and was confused between city or part time. i just realized that city is smaller than what i like after i read this.
...and more with the macbook comparison! :love:
i own a 13" macbook pro also and going to carry it in my future bbag to work. now that i've seen the size i can get roughly pictures how it would be.
however, i'm still torn between part time or work. i don't want the bag to look too large for me but i also still need some room after i put my mac in.
any suggestion ladies? :thinkin:

If you want to put a 13" mac in a bbag, I would recommend you getting something other than the city. My Macbook air 11" fits perfectly into my City with its case.
Maybe try a Work? I don't have that bag, so I can't give you any dimensions, but hopefully some other TPFers can help out here :smile1:

I think Work is a very good size to carry to work hence the name right? you can fit A4 folders inside, it holds a lot more than just wallet and makeup purse, you can put umbrella, sunglasses, bottled water in it. Personally I like big bags but if you worry it may be too big, why not look into Kraft (16"W)? I believe it is a new style, slightly smaller than the Work (18"W) and comes with shoulder strap :smile1:

Yes, I think so. The Hobo had been discontinued since 2009 (the last season is from 2008FW). The Hobo is shorter in height, and the handle drop is longer than the Day, about the same width. Another difference is Hobo only came in the giant hardware, where Day comes in both regular and giant hardware.
