Bal Intel - F/W 2011

Ladies,
I just got home from a full day of Bal-researching. First, I started off at the Bal SCP boutique. My sweet SA there didn't even know the names of the upcoming F/W colors, nor did he have a swatch.
I then drove about an hour to a private, upscale boutique. I ended up buying a Light Olive RH City (my third time with this bag, but that's another story...) and ended up chatting with the buyer.
OMG!!!!
She just came back from the showroom in New York and had a FULL BINDER of pictures. She showed me the color swatches, and PICTURES of the upcoming bags!!! Here's the scoop:
Papyrus: I saw a picture of the RGGH City. It's like a darker version of Galet. It was the color that caused the most buzz amongst all the buyers. She ordered the most styles/hardware of this color.
Coquelot (sp?): Saw a pic of this in the Pompon. The picture seemed like a bright coral/tomato, but the swatch was much darker. She said the picture looked nothing like the real color... that it's darker and much more like the swatch. Another color all the buyers went ga-ga- over.
Paeon (sp): The swatch looked like a lighter version of Cyclade. I was hoping it would be like the picture of the peacock, but it's not. this particular buyer wasn't impressed with it and didn't order many pieces in it.
Some purple color (forget the name): She said this was the most GORGEOUS purple she's ever seen... and like nothing that Bal has ever produced before. To me, the swatch looked like Raisin, but she said no, it's not like that IRL. It's a deep, deep purple that manages to be bright at the same time.
Overall, Papyrus was the #1 hit of all the buyers. She personally loves Papyrys, Coquelot, and the purple color and ordered the most in those three colors.
Oh, and Vert Menthe? The reason she didn't buy it in any bags was because she was not impressed with it IRL. None of the buyers she saw when she was there purchased bags in Vert Menthe, either. Something about it IRL must be flat or dull or off. That's just my guess.
Ok... that's it. I'm still recovering from almost fainting at the F/W pictures. Start saving like crazy, ladies!!! I know I am

Omg, thanks for the intel...my heart is thudding knowing that there's a Raisin-like purple for Fall!
riry - thank you SO MUCH for the intel. Tell me was "Coquelot" anything like rouge theatre? or brighter like rough vif?
The pompon pic looked NOTHING like rouge theatre... it was a much brighter, clear red. But she said the red is absolutely nothing like the pompon pic... not even close. That it's much deeper, darker. And much more like the swatch. But the swatch was so small!! It was definitely a deep red... but nowhere close to the berry undertone of pourpre.
She said she hasn't been this excited about colors in a long time. All the other buyers felt the same way. I left literally hyperventilating.

Hahah, thanks for the fabulous news, riry. If you were left hyperventilating seeing the swatches and pictures, you can imagine how the rest of us feel NOT having seen the colours, with our imagination running overtime.
I've decided to pass on the much discussed Dark Knight, Militaire and Vert Menthe, and am now saving for the Papyrus and Red and the Purple, now.
As long as I don't see anything I really like this season, I will be fine... however, I would love an Anthra RH Maxi-Twiggy, and I know that's a colour we can always get any season - including this season!

Thanks for the infor riry! Could the Purple be Bleu lavande that the buyer was talking about? ooh no a beautiful Purple... Red they all went gaga over.... I hope this Red is the one I've been waiting for....ooh dear I'm in seriuosly big trouble now. Red & Purple, my favorite colours...
^^^ That's the purple!! I remember it said "Bleu"-something. The buyer just went on and on about this color. I told her I'm not a purple person (just received and let go of a pretty raisin twiggy last week), but she said "YOU WILL CHANGE YOUR MIND WHEN YOU SEE THIS COLOR!"

I'm not a purple person either riry - So Not! If I change my mind when I see this color then cows will definitely start to jump over the moon!!
Thanks so much for the descriptive info! I am looking forward to seeing the red; the papyrus not so much. I didn't like Galet and can't imagine I will like something darker than Galet. But who knows?!
