I could never get on board with LV painted canvas.

Enjoying a break from something larger, leather and vintage. I did not know coated canvas could be so, well, enjoyable!
Okay, time to eat my words on painted canvas! I now get the love for painted canvas! I have been thrifting smaller Coach pouches from the ‘00s as one of my friend’s likes them. And I live in an area that has lots of Coach from 10 to 20 years back for resale. I picked up a coated canvas pouch from Coach that just has this solid, well made feel to it. The canvas is quite substantial. The hardware and leather details are quite nice. Instead of gifting it, it’s a keeper.
I really attempt to stay open minded, and if my opinion on something completely changes, I’m not afraid to say so. At least not hear! So while I am not ready to look for LV, if the bags are as well made as my little pouch, I get it!

Fun thread. I don't get how Lady Dior is a 'classic'. I understand how some people want one (although not my taste), but i do not really get how it is considered a classic and been made a staple design of Dior's. The bag neither have a classic flap design or a conservative structure like an Alma or Peekaboo or say a Kelly bag. The puffy handles and the box structure makes it look like a 'trend' to me. You can say the same for say - Speedy Bs, reminding the gym bag and all, but speedy B is a casual bag when in canvas while Lady dior looks like someone tried hard to 'sophisticate' a regular tote.

I completely get why someone would want to buy the same bag/design in various patterns and materials. Like say a Neverfull in all three canvas or various peekaboos. Sometimes a particular bag design just works out well for you. You are comfortable wearing and using that 'design', so you may buy multiples. However, what i do NOT get is how people collect multiple bags varying in size and design but in the same coloring, print and material. Like the LV canvas. People have a family of 'mono's or family of 'DE's. If I am going to be spend $$$$ on purses, I better have a lot of fun variety in my collection. :)

Also do not get the hype on patent leather. I get it is shiny and grand and all but why would it be enjoyable to have my expensive leather look and feel like plastic :hrmm:

The last thing I do not comprehend is how boring Hermes' Berkin (the Kelly too, but berkin bores me more, lol) looks. If at all .... I ever buy one sometime in my life, i think that may be the most boring thing i have put my money on.

This is all some thought process of my mine. I may be completely ignorant and realize things later however, since I am definitely not super experienced and do not really own a huge variety of purses! :flowers:
