Bags you don't get

This is one of my favorite threads ever!

- Chanel Gabrielle, it's like grandma got a lot of bad plastic surgery and put on a ton of heavy make-up to look young/relevant again.
- bags and slg's that purposely have a monster/bug/owl/panda/animal face of some sort. Fendi, giving you side eye right now....

- Valentino rock studs, I guess if I want to go all Ben-hur at the mall to push ppl out of my way.

Chanel bags in general look (to me) like bags for rich ladies, like Emily Gilmore types. The Gabrielle is like Emily trying to be Lorelai, but failing monumentally.

Apologies for the Gilmore Girls reference - can you tell I've been binge rewatching?

Those with the monster, etc. are okay with me but don't charge me designer prices for them!

I like the rock studs! I like the shoes more than the bags and I'm a casual/edgy dresser though. But I won't save up to pay designer prices for them. Maybe if money is no object.

Hahaha! I love the Gilmore girls reference - too funny!

Actually, I like the look of rock studs on shoes too! If I were more into shoes - I'd splurge. On purses, just not my thing

I should've put a disclaimer on my post that I'm pretty boring and basic when it comes to premiere bags (especially for the $$$$!); hence, not getting the extra embellishments on purses, lol.

Me too! Because uhm, these purses are expensive!

I'm a shoegirl through and through - but I never had a designer. Just a lot of regular-priced ones. Shoes make me happy. I only got into bags recently - but fell hard.

I tried the Rock Stud flats the other day and my gigantic feet don't fit in them.:annoyed:

I know right, what's up with that double flap?! BTW your recent red lambskin purchase is sooo pretty!
Thanks! That is the bag that is making me go on a rampage about double flaps. I love it. But the double flap. Whhhhhyyyy???
Is this the double flap? There's seriously one flap inside? Why? :confused1:

I'm not familiar with Chanel.
For no same reason. None. There is an extra flap there to confound all logic and sanity on the name of pointless "luxury".
That little zip pocket on the flap is so worthless. You cannot fit anything in that pocket. Those love letters Chanel was hiding must’ve been as small and thin as receipts because that’s really the only things that fit in there.

I also hate that I can’t close my bag without worrying how the zipper will mark the inner, second flap. I guess that flap is also pointless, but it doesn’t really bother me as much as that zipper pocket.
Yes. To all. The zipper does mark the inside if we aren't careful. The bag makes me neurotic. Lol!
The double flap is there for added security. In case if you're in a rush and can't close the main flap, you can just snap the second one quickly and go on your way. That's what I heard lol.
Ok. So who can't turn a tiny turn lock to close a bag? LOL! This bag is sooooo over engineered.
I find the inner flap really hard to close on mine but I’m also really cautious of squishing my precious 2.55 haha!
Yes!!! More reason we don't need multiple flaps.

I'm not a granny ;) and, I do love my Chanel (single) flaps. But, honestly folks, I just can't stand the fussiness of the double flap. I need to organize a (tasteful, fashionably dressed) protest.

- Jeff Koons LV collaboration, I am a big LV fan but....WTH? LV has the money, brand influence, talent and this is what they come up with? One of the biggest fails in my book, lol!

I literally guffawed out loud when I read your description of the Gabrielle!! Yes!
Is it harder to close the main flap compared to the second flap?

I raise you the Chanel Girl Bag...
Happily, the Girl Bag died a very quick death.

Haha I love this thread and while some of the bags I own are mentioned here, I'm laughing so hard.

Givenchy Pandora - I have a mini with the chain straps, not into Givenchy until I realised how edgy it looks and will compliment anything with my wardrobe. When my guy first saw it, he said it looked like one of toilet paper covers because it's just a box! Still he was sweet enough to hunt down one for me for a really good price. It's definitely one of my most used bags, so carefree and doesn't scream "look at me!!!

Omg this is my pet peeve too! I want a zipper for security and want to find a tote that doesn't just have a small clasp or magnetic closure in the middle. People say they are go arounds like putting all your stuff in the dust bag then putting it in your tote. Or stuffing a towel on top. It is SO HARD to find a luxury tote with a zip."

The Chanel Cambon Line totes (med & large) have zip closures if you're not adverse to logo bags, so you can leave the towel at home -lol.
