The fringing and the hardware is very 90s though.

Obviously i am in the minority with my opinion here and that's fine. This is just truly my opinion and i'm ok with agreeing to disagree here. I just personally don't think the Balenciaga City is style that can go out as it already has.

It's rarely seen (where i live) any more anyway.

Where I live, fringe was in early to mid 80's. By the 90's, it was out.

That's one of the reasons I thought Bals were interesting initially.. they put fringe on a bag that came out in 2002 or was it 2003? 18 or so years after it was outdated, but it worked and people loved it.

But yeah, to each their own.

Dooney & Bourke all weather leather Norfolk satchel in British tan

I use those pretty regularly as my go-to staples. They can never go out of style :)

Since the subject of the thread is "Bags that will never go out of STYLE" instead of "Bags that will never go out of FASHION", I agree mostly with this list. But I would exclude Bal City and add:
