If I'm going to be out for more than an hour and a half, a water bottle is a must for me. I don't like to buy water, and I'm not a fan of drinking out of water coolers - I've seen what's inside those when they haven't been cleaned properly... You don't want that in you. So I have a reusable 20 fl oz / 0.6 liter bottle. We're supposed to consume about 67 fl oz / 2 liters of water throughout the day, plus I'm an avid coffee drinker and it's recommended that for every cup of coffee you add a cup of water to your daily water intake.

Even when I'm at home, I always have a glass of water beside me and I would take a sip every now and then.
Interesting.

I actually went the other direction. The first key pouch I got was the classic LV monogram circa 2003. I didn't love it, but I knew it was almost what I needed. I got the vernis key pouch in bleu nuit in 2009, which is slightly larger as far less ubiquitous. I absolutely loved that blue so hard it made my head spin. Still do. Unfortunately it was inside my bag that was stolen in 2014. I miss it everyday, but I used the classic monogram canvas key pouch in its stead. I never loved it and I never used it the way I used the vernis. In the last two months I actually found a pre-loved replacement and it feels so right.

Now you have my wheels turning to give it another chance, I purchased a vernis key pouch and it’s beautiful, sitting in my bag doing nothing. I’ll take it out and give it a whirl!

The vernis is just ever so slightly larger, but it makes all the difference in usability. I love my key pouch again. Hopefully you have the same experience.

I’m glad that I didn’t buy the LV 6 ring key holder. I bought a vintage Gucci and a leather one from the men’s section at Macy’s. They’re a pain in the butt when you want to valet. They also took up too much space in my bag.

I keep going back and forth with the cles, but I’ve decided that it’s a hard pass. I own a Pouchette Accessoires from 2001 (which I still have) and haven’t bought an LV item since. I realized about a year ago that I’m just not a fan. I love their clothes, shoes, and trunks, but the bags and small leather goods...not so much. When I walk into the boutique, I go straight to the clothes, shoes, travel items, and housewares. Although, I love what Virgil Abloh is doing for men’s.

I find it so interesting how different everyone is too! I'm in the no compartments camp, but for different reasons than southernbelle43. For me, I want to maximize the space available to me in a bag, and I find dividers and compartments inhibit space. I can't just throw my things in. I have to put things in specific dividers/compartments based on how big, small, thick, or thin they are. I carry everything in pouches so I'm not all that concerned about items getting lost in a black hole, but since my pouches are all different sizes and widths, it doesn't always work when there are compartments and dividers. I don't like bag organizers for the same reason. I do love an inner zip or slip pocket for my LV key pouch and phone - the only things I carry that are not in a pouch, so those go in an inner pocket. No inner pocket of some sort, especially in a tote, is a near-deal breaker for me (I say near because if I love the bag enough, I can always make exceptions!)

Other elements that I dislike are when the carrying options of a bag are ONLY handheld, crossbody, and/or long shoulder. My carry preference is short-shoulder. There are many beautiful bags I've passed on because the carry options didn't allow for short shoulder carry. So many bags lately come with a detachable shoulder strap, but it seems that so often, those straps only allow for crossbody or long-shoulder carry.
I feel the same away about bags with compartments. For me, the worst thing is that I can never remember which compartment things are in so I end up looking in them all every time I'm looking for something. I do like inner pockets. I have specific things that go in those in every bag so if I carry a bag with fewer pockets, my pocket items don't have a special place. I prefer open pockets inside rather than zipped so they are easy to see and access.

I prefer short shoulder too, especially on larger bags. I'm okay with crossbody straps on smaller bags. I think they look cute but I feel awkward putting the strap over my head.
Talking about differences I am surprised at the number of people who carry water around with them. Of course, I never had to commute for long periods of time on mass transit either.
I only carry water if I'm going to be out for several hours. Then water is a must.

I have found that kid's water bottles (10-12 oz) are the perfect solution for the heaviness problem! I don't usually make it through my 32 oz Nalgene for a couple hours, so for a little bit of time out of the house or commuting to work, that much water is perfect and not too heavy.

I'm firmly in the water bottle camp. For long excursions if we have access to a car, I carry something larger (like my 32oz. HydroFlask) and when it's shorter trips, a 500mL bkr or 16oz S'well or even 12oz reusable water bottle. I find that having a water bottle on hand is the perfect way for me to stay hydrated no matter where I am, and avoid the excuse to indulge in a soda or something sweet.

I also teach and practice yoga or go to the gym/some fitness activity on a regular basis, which means that I really just always need to have water with me. I find that it makes a big difference in my overall health.

I appreciate that so many people also carry water with them! I am firmly in the reusable water bottle camp too... if I can get away with it. It's actually one of the reasons I have preferred larger bags. I'm trying to use smaller bags when I don't need to carry my laptop with me though, and I still wanted water. I found a reusable hot/cold 12oz bottle that works perfectly!

I'm also one of those who likes the idea of a key holder but know that it would never work for me in real life. I have too many keys! If I want to protect bag, I'll throw the whole bundle into a pouch. Though until the weather warms up some more, I still have the pockets on my coats.

I’ve been using my Vernis key pouch/cles, been loving it!

I’m a water bottle girl but, I leave mine in the car. Never put it in my bag.

Getting back to the OP’s question:
• Metallic lambskin card holders. I had a silver Chanel and gold Dior. These were so beautiful but not a good idea at all because they so easily scratched in my bags. I didn’t think about this because I never have issues with lambskin handbags. :shrugs: Sold then both.
Gucci teal nubuck Soho - I still adore this bag. The color was crazy pretty. But, it taught me that nubuck, suede and other bags with a nap aren’t for me. I’m too worried about staining them to enjoy them.
• Patent leather Chanel jumbo flap - This was the nail in the coffin for me with patent leather bags. I have owned a few but, I’ve fallen out of love with the material. It had to go. I tried to love it but it just felt too dated.
• Totes - I am not a tote person but, everyone needs a larger bag to haul things. I’ve bought and sold several that I was super excited to have thinking they were finally the one for me. But, this one has too many dividers or that one is a black hole or the other one has the wrong strap drop. :hrmm: So, I’m still looking.

I hear you about the totes. I have a closet full of lovely bags and I am thrilled with every one of them. But I wanted a tote that is raw, sturdy, earthy, great quality leather with the perfect strap drop. A bag that I can grab, sling, toss, squish, sit one... whatever and it will only get better with age. A friend on here mentioned the Portland leather classic tote. I watched some you tube videos and decided that this is exactly what I am looking for, so I have one ordered. Plus the price and their 25% discount are ridiculous. I cannot wait to get it. It is not gorgeous or stylish or everyone's cup of tea...it has unpainted edges and no lining. PERFECT for what I want it for.

I'm a mass transit commuter, and while I don't have the longest commute (about an hour each way), I don't tend to carry water with me. I only bring a water bottle in my bag if I will be taking a pole/aerial/contortion/fitness class. I actually feel like I should bring water with me more because I do need to drink more water! I just don't tend to get thirsty very easily so it never occurs to me, outside of taking a class. I carry so many other things though that maybe it's for the best - my regular stuff is heavy enough!
I also didn't drank enough water. I never felt thirsty but it wasn't healty. Because it was a habit that I couldn't break I installed an app. It's called plant nanny. It's really childish and sometimes I hate it, but the water reminders really work.

On topic: every summer I tend to fall for a light colored cross body bag. Every summer I realise that my chest doesn't do crossbody without getting indecent. I now own pretty shoulder bags and am on a summer bag buying ban.

The six key holder- I liked the idea, but it was not practical because opening and closing the flap to get my house key out is ridiculous. I bought a Kate Spade one from the outlet because I didn't want to waste money on the LV one until I knew how I felt. It was much heavier material and I try to carry light items to limit weight of my bag so thought I'd try the LV one. I tried it and got annoyed so sold it.

Key Pouch- I have a love/hate relationship with this lol. I bought 3 (each LV print at the time) and decided it wasn't wonderful so sold them. A couple years later I decided to try again, but this time with only 1. I have and use it, but am constantly debating on selling it because I have mixed feelings on it.

Neverfull- I bought all 3 prints then sold them all. I started with monogram (preloved) then sold it when I was changing up brands in my collection for a bit. I purchased DE/DA when the rose interior came out. I had them for a year and barely used them. I decided that I really do prefer having a zipper on my bags. I hated if the car stopped suddenly and my bag tipped over, sometimes spilling items and didn't like worrying when it rained (live in area where there is a lot of rain)!

I am sure there are other items, but nothing standing out like these three :)

The H Evelyne was a big disappointment :-(
I wanted to treat myself my first H bag, and being pregnant I thought a crossbody would be the cleverest in the next years with a baby. I already knew crossbodies aren't the best style for me but... It was a true catastrophe, it didn't suit me at all and as my DH said (and I can trust his taste) "I expected something grandiose for this price. Don't think twice and return this".
So I purchased a Longchamp 2nd hand crossbody for 20 €, and of course the Lindy suits me perfectly, for almost 3x the Evelyne price :-D
And I feel a little envious whenever I see a lady wearing it so well.
