Let's talk about the items - be it bags, SLGs, clothing, shoes - that you really wanted and were sure you would love. But then when you got them, you realized pretty quickly that they just do not work out for you no matter how hard you try.

Have you ever had that happen to you?

I've recently had that experience. I always carried my keys on a key chain with a small charm. But I figured, I really should get a proper key holder to protect the inside of my bags and all the other stuff from getting scratched by the keys. So I got myself a 6-ring key holder by Burberry. It's black, it's pretty, it fits all of my keys perfectly. And... I hate it. It's so cumbersome and such a hassle to use my keys. I've had it for a couple of weeks now and still can't get used to it. I think I'm going to try a key pouch with a zipper. But for now, back to the old setup I go.

Good thread! For me it’s probably shoes. Nothings as lovely as Chanel or Burberry! I want to be able to wear so many different styles but they often don’t work for me!

For example, I decided to be trendy and get a pair of purple Vans but they just didn’t work at all. I have a bit of an ongoing foot condition and they were just too flat! DD loves them. Another example is a pair of black patent heels. I really loved them but they just weren’t quite right. :pout:

Speedy B 35 for me. I already loved the classic Speedy 30, and I love big shoulder bags, so I thought the Speedy B 35 would be the perfect bag for me. Turns out that the bag was super uncomfortable for me to shoulder-carry. It always felt like it was going to fall off my shoulder. I also ended up hating the size. All the extra space from the larger size made the bag fold in on itself when using the strap, which made it so difficult for me to get in and out of. It didn't fold in if I hand-carried it, but I never wanted to hand-carry it because it was so big. All in all, a big fail.

Re. the keys - those 4- or 6-ring key holders never worked for me either. I LOVE my LV key pouch, but I don't put my keys inside of it. I use the pouch to hold my bus passes, train passes, subway card, work ID, etc., and I just the key ring as a regular key chain. I love having all the things I need frequently on an every-day basis on one small SLG. I always use an inner pocket in bags to put my key pouch in, so it doesn't really matter that they're not in the actual pouch because they're still separated from my things (nothing else really goes in the inner pocket). Honestly, if your old system is working and if you haven't had issues with your items being scratched, I say keep doing what works!

Gucci Dionysus WOC. I thought it was pretty and not too common. It’s green with green stones on the snake. I still think it’s pretty but does not hold much and I feel that things inside can and will slide out if left opened. I have a Chanel WOC that works like a champ. It can fit so many things and my stuff don’t spill out if I don’t snap it back. I rarely use the Gucci and am thinking of selling it.

This has happened to me so many times! I solved the problem by starting to try out things that are similar but alot cheaper before going for the real thing; that way I can be sure I won't lose heaps of money if/when I sell and either purchase the more expensive version or just forget about it.
I remember this happening to me with a chain handle crossbody, a travel bag, large tote, several wallets and SLG, also scarves etc.

I agree on some level too about the LV key pouch. I do like it and use it. It fits my keys perfectly, but not my fob and keys together so well... I have to keep my fob detached from the chain which I feel defeats the purpose of the key pouch for me. I've never been a fan of the 6 key holder, it looks too fussy and outdated in my opinion. I still use the key pouch but just bummed about how I have to alter it's original usage.

I feel the same about the round coin purse. I was in a craze to get this (and a few other SLGs at the time - thanks to clever marketing). I used it for awhile, but again found it's too fussy to deal with in real life when you have a busy day running errands primarily. I just prefer using a wallet that fits what I need on a daily basis. Aww, the items that we think we need but really don't...

Yep, that too. I think coin purses are cute and all that, but I just don't really see the point in switching out of a wallet into a cardholder and a coin purse. There are so many nice compact wallets. But yeah, just because I don't think some item is functional, doesn't mean I don't want it... :-s

Moynat’s Petit Réjane came and went in my closet. It was heavy for the size, and very difficult and fiddly to get in and out of the bag. I gifted it to a niece who is thrilled - to each her own. I see that Moynat has “improved” the fastening, so maybe I was not alone, and perhaps this issue is resolved.

Items that didn’t work for me

Kate Spade Maise: I hate the shape of this bag. Did not work out for me. So hard to find things.
Kate Spade Harmony crossbody: too small.

Kate Spade Hallie Tote: way too stiff.

Rebecca Minkoff Bryn: this was roomy but something about the crossbody strap I didn’t like. Too thick? Too short? Not sure.

RM Blythe: too small

RM Je T’aime: This bag is gorgeous BUT SO HEAVY. It also didn’t fit much.

Louis Vuitton Pochette Accessoires nm something about this shape I don’t like. I have the old model now and love it.

Louis Vuitton 4 key holder Graphite (before they released the clues in DG it had a screw closure for the keychain and a zip that went down the side too) I really am not a fan of the long chain thing. I was it to be short. Also, the clasp kept unscrewing and my keys would be just waiting to fall off the keychain.

Dooney Olivia: so big and bulky and heavy. Also didn’t like the interior slick material

Karl Agyness: I bought this in a cream color which does not work for me and it was too small. Also came in a woven leather and metal chain which I don’t like.
Large crossbody bags: These just don’t work for me. I have weak shoulders I guess.

Divided bags: these drive me crazy currently. I much prefer a large opening and using a bag organizer.
