Is an insert necessary to keep a K28 retourne (Togo leather) from losing its shape and slouching in time?

In my opinion, no. It is more important how you store your bag when not in use.
I jus tgot my Maitai insert for a kelly 25 retourne and worry the stiff top corners poke into the back of the bag- you can kind of see it when the bag is closed. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, what did you do?
it was also bothering me for k25 togo retourne and pico 18 maurice so i just stopped using them. for storage i use their tissue paper 'pillow' sent with the insert. need to look for actual pillow LOL
I just want something that will protect the interior of the bag from damage, don't care so much about adding structure. Should I return the insert, you think?
idk, small biz so maybe explain and exchange for another product? you might like inserts that are more pliable, like those in all silk/satin
I have a friend that really likes the DGAZ (spelling?) ones you can get from Amazon. I don't like having inserts in a k25 or under since there's not that much room anyway. I don't like to put inserts in my bags in general since I don't like the idea of random creases or lines forming. You can also just use a soft pouch?
But it's your bag, so just use it and enjoy it! Having an insert is nice since you can worry less about having a pen or skincare or make up in it.
i have one as well for k25 sellier and retourne- i haven't noticed the corners poking in the back, but will check. i don't think it will cause any creasing as long as you don't leave it in long term as storage.
i haven't ordered it yet, but i heard good things about 'it's all about the bag' pillows.
I use MaiTai inserts - the jpg one for my k28 retourne in box and k32 retourne in barenia - and haven’t found them to cause any issues. My k32 in barenia is especially soft/little puddly since it’s 25 years old and I haven’t noticed pressure points from inserts. I think I read another post about how certain fabrics from MaiTai may be more firm/structured? I use a linen one for my halzan and noticed it seems to be a bit more soft and light compared to my JPG ones. Try reaching out to her and see if she’d be willing to exchange for a different version like the linen? I’d also recommend against keep inserts for storage.
I’ve also tried DGAZ like @skybluesky mentioned for my herbag zip and overall found it to be a nice satin insert. Definitely a good option if you just want a thin liner for protection.
Regarding storage, I use “it’s all about the bag” for my Kelly’s and B. They fit perfectly. Before I got these pillows, I used a pillow from another brand for my b30 and realized the peak was too overstuffed and actually caused pressure points on the flap and sangles. Anyways, very happy with my bag pillows from “it’s all about the bag” and customer service!! @Tonimichelle

I’ve been using Bagsentials purse pilows. But I don’t see any mention of them anywhere. (Forgive me if I missed it. I searched using Everywhere and found nothing) I can’t believe I’m the only one who knows about them. So it makes me wonder, is there a reason nobody mentions them that I should know about? The ones I have fit my bags nicely. For those bags they don’t make pillows for specifically, I was able to find something that would work. But it if there’s something I should know about them, please let me know!
