Hi. IMO the only difference in the collection is price, fabrics and colour. Depending if you prefer cotton, linen or satin. Linen is more durable, satin is very silky and feels luxurious but delicate. Cotton and linen are both easy to care for. If budget isn’t an issue I’d say go for a fabric you like that matches the colour of your bag. If you really don’t care for the fancy fabrics and colours, liberty of London or the linen collection are both great options. I’ve attached some of the inserts I got from Maitai. Love the craftsmanship and colours as usual.

Thank you so much for your reply and photos! It is really helpful! I really like the insert that you choose for your picotin. The colour of the insert goes so well with your bag! Your dog is so cute too! I think I'll buy one of the liners from the linen collection as the colour best matches my bag and the price is lower

I have a feelling that the linen might be softer than JPG.. from the pictures on the maitai website, it looks like linen insert is thinner than the JPG, and the linen insert is lighter in weight. Perhaps JPG can help to maintain the structure of the bag, and I don't think it would leave an indent on the bag as JPG appears to be soft and malleable. Those are just my guesses lol

Hi I just received my pillow and insert from this Taiwanese maker. Ibao.

I use 7rp for my birkin and kelly. Mai tai for bolide and picotin.

But for Lindy I wanted to try something new. I saw some Taiwanese influencer and they intro this. It’s soft and silky (not sure if it’s real silk). Imptly when u fold the Lindy the insert doesn’t collapse together as it has two flaps to be inserted into the interior pockets of the Lindy. And it’s so soft to touch.

The pillow fits nicely also and doesnt stretch the bag. I really love it. They are on ig. I think easier to order on ig as they do speak English.

Thanks for the info! What size of lindy do you have? I am looking to add lindy 26 to my collection in the future lol The insert from Ibao looks very well made. How long was the shipping?

it was very fast... abt 4 days. i was old it will take longer as they dont keep much stock for the insert. So they may have to do one if theres no existing stock for the colour i wanted. lucky enough there is. :)

Hello Everyone,

New to the forum and so glad to be here! I have a few questions as I have probably gone through 100+ pages in this thread and I think that I may be more confused than when I first started with bag inserts. LOL

I am looking for a few recommended brands that will be good for a Birkin 40 in Togo, brand new. In this size with Togo, it will sag a lot with age and I don't mind that, but I have seen some that are really bad if opened, does not stand up at all and looks terrible. I don't want my bag to get to that point, especially in a 40.

I have looked at a few places based on the recommendations here.
1. Mai Tai - They don't make an insert in that size
2. Samorga 40 cm $70.00 US
3. 7RP 40 cm $550.00 US
4. Merandi in Silk 40 cm $226.00 US
5. Zoomoni in the thinner felt 1.2 mm rather than 2.0 mm $58.00 US

It's a little all across the board. I have read good and bad from all. I don't mind spending the 550.00 if it's the best. Across this thread, everyone has smaller bags. And I think that there may be a difference due to the size bag you're carrying in the Birkin style. Also, I have searched here for 40 cm Birkins and the posts are from 2016. Thank you for your help.

Check out DivideAndConquer, I use D&C inside my Birkin 30, all looking good.

I have multiple MaiTai inserts (at least 10) in all the fabrics except Liberty.
The linen are def a bit softer than the JPG laque fabric. The Canovas fabric is in between. The weight difference if any is minimal. I prefer the JPG and Canvas as the linen inserts get floppy after a while, plus I like the brighter colors. If you want a very very soft insert, use the linen.

None of the MaiTai inserts have ever created an indentation in any of my bags, but I would also never store a bag with an insert in it. If a bag is in regular use, though, it might have the insert in for a week or two. (The rest of the time the bags are in their dust bags and stuffed with a pillow.) HTH
