B. Makowsky bags are not a wise choice

I don't understand the appeal of B Mak bags. Yes the leather is soft, but the styles are retread after retread after retread. They all look the same--a tweak in color here, or print there. And styles are boring--something my 65 year old mother would like and owns.

And overpriced!! Obviously, given the bazillion I see in TJ Maxx and Marshalls every single time I go there.

I would buy a coach fabric bag over a leather b mak bag any day--the quality just can't be compared. And as for soft leather--I have a dreamy Kors bag that is so amazingly soft and far more durable from the beat up pathetic bags I've seen by B Mak in TJ Max and Marshalls.

I can't imagine this line lasting much longer anywhere but on home shopping channels.

I came across a used Makowsky bag at the thrift store today for around $10 and I liked the hardware and soft leather and I almost bought it until I noticed that the straps were were beginning to fray and peel - so I put it back. Instead I bought a vintage Coach tote for $13. It was made in the the United States" circa 1990 and it looks like it will last forever!

I am also dissatisfied with the B Makowsy handbags I purchased 4 months ago. It was recommended by someone as a bag comparable to tignanello handbags and it is certainly not. I have used one of my Tig bags as a work purse for everyday use and it lasted 3 year and the outside was still in perfect condition. This B. Makowsky bag has the handes frayed and the band around the handle has come completely loose. I willnever by another one again that's for sure.

Wow, I didn't know they were such bad quality! I don't own any of his bags, but I do have a KVZ and I work in a handbag shop that stocks this brand, I think my major annoyance with it is the weight of the bag! It hurts my shoulder just to carry the empty bag! Same with KVZ, i havent used mine in 2 years...

This is exactly why I bought my B. Makowsky bags from QVC. they have easy pay and you can ''test'' the bag out, if you have any problems you can return the bag for a refund or exchange.

I have 4 of his bags and I've had no problems with them. I like his wife Kathy better, her bags are more trendy and last a lot longer.

I bought my first Makowsky purse 3 months ago and it handle is crack and torn where it snags my blouses! I am very careful with my purses and have never had a purse do this before. I wish I would have read these reviews before I bought it. This purse was close to $200 but I bought it at TJ MAXX for $130. Never again will I buy a Makowsky purse.

I'm glad I didn't see this thread before I purchased my B. Makowsky bags - it may have given me pause, but just for a minute. I have 3 Makowsky bags and have never had any problems with any of them. One was purchased at Marshall's, 1 at a major department store and 1 purchased online. All of them are well made, the leather is soft (which I like), and they still look and feel like new. The bags range in age from 2-3 years old and they are doing remarkably well compared to several other bags I've had from designers that cost more than Makowsky and are showing signs of wear and tear.

I have a b makowsky handbag, use it everyday, never had a problem with it- very strong material, purchased it year 2009 and the back is still in excellent condition. B makowsky handbags excellent choice

I bought 3 b makowsky las Vegas stuffed crossbody, a bronze, yellow and black, after a few uses the yellow got dirty and wouldn't get clean, after a few uses of the bronze, the color began to rub off, the black the zipper pull broke, and I spent alot, never again. I have a vintage medusa versace, a anuschka, fairy crossbody, 6 Isabella fiore including a red desert passage, a tattoo celeste horoscope capricorn crossbody, a tattoo celeste horoscope fairy crossbody, a red tattoo free spirit crossbody, a black tattoo free spirit crossbody and a brown leather with tooled roses fringe crossbody, and the few other bags

I have three B Markowski purses and my daughter has five or six. We love the leather, colors, and the multiple styles of the purses. We normally purchase our purses from T. J. Maxx and they do hold up. I'm not that gently with the purse either. I've purchased Dooney & Burke, and Michael Kohl, B Markowski is my favorite. Cloth, not interested, no matter who makes it.

I wish I had known about this forum before I purchased a B. Makowsky handbag last year, because I would have seen all the bad reviews of B. Makowsky handbags. Within a few months of use, the leather handle was frayed and badly discolored from body oils. I wrote to this company's customer service, but they will not repair the bag.

It is ridiculous to pay exorbitant prices for handbags from companies that don't stand behind their products. If you are contemplating a B. Makowsky purchase, you should instead consider Dooney & Bourke or another company that warrants its products. Unless you just have money to throw away....

Now I'm going to throw away this expensive bag that only lasted a few months. I will NEVER again buy another B. Makowsky product!!
I love Dooney & Bourke & leather Coaches, they're great & yes you're right they stand behind their products.
