Good morning! May I please ask for some advice? I have an Alexander McQueen winter wool scarf which I am looking for help authenticating. I had tried to go through Authenticate4u.com, but its been almost two weeks and I have not yet received any response from them beyond the auto replies. I have tried inquiring several times, but all I have gotten back was the same, I'll reply to you soon. Does anyone know of any other authentication services for Alexander McQueen scarves? I just need a basic authentication, so something like what Authenticate4U.com offers for their email authentication in the $10 range. Any advice or help would be immensely appreciated! Thank you very much!

Hello,
I usually use authenticate4u but something is going on with them. The response time is never ending. My mom is still waiting for an uthentication. I am not familiar with another service that offers simple authentication. If you are interested in selling the scarf, you may so on lollipuff.com. They authenticate your items before listing them for sale on their site.

Thank you again, Soleil! I have used Autheticate4U a few times in the past, and their turn around time has always been within a few days. And I've heard back from Lesley within hours to confirm receipt, but this time its been crazy. My last email to them bounced saying their email box is over quota, so there is definitely something amiss. I appreciate your advice on lollipuff . Maybe I'll try that. Thank you for all your help!

OP, you should probably take down the eBay listing for this scarf if you aren't sure of its authenticity. I personally purchased a fake McQueen scarf from TheRealReal and it was a pretty obvious fake, too. I have 0 confidence in their ability to authenticate McQueen.

For my part, I have owned many McQueen scarves but I really don't know on this one. The tag looks different than any scarf I have owned but perhaps it's from the Men's collection? A4U is the only service I've used to authenticate McQueen scarves so I don't know where else to look.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

TBH, the sites like Vestiaire Collective, The Real Real and others who claim to "authenticate" before shipping items out have made mistakes, sold fakes and show no evidence of having brand specialists.

Thank you Uadjit. I took down the eBay listing a while ago. When I didn't hear back from Lesley right away I pulled it down.

I was able to get authentication on it yesterday thankfully. So it is real. A fellow member on TPf who has many of his older and wool scarves took a look for me and let me know it is authentic. I was 99% but I want to be 100% before I pass it along. I've been sold fakes and I would hate to do that to someone.

I feel so badly for Lesley and hope she gets better very soon. She's a lovely lady. I've always liked chatting with her, so I wish her and her family all the best.

Thank you again so much for your post and your thoughts. I appreciate your advice. I hope you have a wonderful day!

I totally agree. I've been burned (pun sort of intended) by The Real Real. That's why I wanted to be totally sure on this scarf. Nothing was off, its just that I was not the original owner and it's not a common AMQ scarf that most authenticators would know. I'm so grateful for the help I got from both Soleil and the TPF member who was able to take a peek at it for me. I really appreciate all your help.

I am so sorry to hear that the reason for the delay at Authenticate4u is due to Lesley's health. I really hope that it's not serious and that she gets well soon. None of this is important compared to someone's health, and I hope nothing but the best for her. I am grateful for your post, BB. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Guys- posted on A4U's FB page today - Lesley is very ill and having issues with her health -

Let's all wish her a speedy recovery!

Thank you Missbanff. I appreciate your letting me and all of us know. I wish that it was not the case, for Lesley and her family. Thank you for your post. All my best!

I'm glad to hear someone was able to help you. TPFers can really help each other out sometimes.

Yes, Lesley is really lovely and we are all cheering for her to get better.

Does anyone know of another place that will authenticate Chloe bags? I was working with Lesley on a bag I bought when her health issue arose. She had expressed concern about the bag and requested additional photos, but has not yet reviewed them. Is there any other place that might be able to help with an authentication? I'm just worried that it is not authentic, given Lesley's concerns, and I don't want to run out of time to file a claim if there is an issue.

I emailed Chloe once about authenticity and they recommended fakespotters

I've never used them, though so I can't say if they have good service or not.
