Does A4U have multiple authenticators with expertise in different brands? If so, why does the business fall apart every few weeks when Leslie has an issue? I just really don't understand how they have such a loyal fan base here on tPF given their continual set of issues and seemingly poor customer service unless tPF and/or members here are somehow in on it? Also why is Lescoy allowed to come here and promote/reference her business when others cannot?

As I understand it, Lesley delegates the authentications as they comes in but I am not really certain how it works.

Personally, I have experienced delays a few times but my service from A4U has always been excellent, reliable, professional and friendly and all at a very reasonable cost. That's why I, personally, recommend A4U. It is unfortunate that she's going through tough times right now but I don't really know of a better alternative.

I've used A4U a few times in the past and honestly have had only good experiences with them. I've always had to wait about a week for authentication (that's their normal turnaround time from my experience) and remembered back in December/January there was also huge backlog due to medical and home emergencies. All of this was mentioned in their FB page so I understood and was patient.

(Side note: I had some Chanel items I wanted checked in December and went with Etinceler instead of A4U and they had a turnaround of 72 hours which I thought was great.)

That being said, I understand how frustrating it can be, especially if you are on a tight deadline. It would be nice if they'd give a ballpark figure like "if you submit your request today please note there is a two-week wait time for authentications", that way folks can decide if they want to wait all that time or go elsewhere.

It's too bad we don't have many more recommended/reliable paid authentication services, but just my two cents, I'd rather wait and go with a highly recommended service than an iffy service because I'll always be left wondering. I'm not in any way affiliated with any of these services btw, I just wanted to put in my 2 cents as a past customer.

Same experience here, and I really like their PDF document that they send even with the simple e-mail authentication request.

*****************! They did mine and it was flawless and $15. I had already purchased my bag and they were very professional.
I recommend them. Don't know why they aren't being recommended more often here.
I think this site does an amazing job of authenticating but there is a 'learning curve' for sure not to mention the fact that if the person has not contributed to the forums they are less likely to be able to get an authentication.
For peace of mind it's totally worth it to pay $15 to get the info you need.

JMO.

Unfortunately there is nobody else that is as well regarding for LV as A4U. Carol makes too many 'oopsies' for my liking and don't even get me started on AF. Yonnit is another hack.

The only thing I can think of, which is not excusing the lack of communication, is that they are undergoing a system change and may be off line more than they first figured.....on their FB page, it was posted that they were closed and off line all weekend....maybe there were unforseen problems?
What exactly is your problem with ****************** please?

The thing is, that A4Y is not working at the moment.
I just got my money back that I sent one week ago to have my bag authenticated.

But WHERE can we go when obviously NO ONE except A4y can be trusted?????

Glad to know that there are alternatives; however, they charge a whopping $45 for an email authentication that other legitimate authentication services charge $5-$7.

Not only that, but I had a Chloe bag authenticated at both A4u and FakeSpotters. I only had FS re-authenticate it because that was right when Lesley's health problems came up and I couldn't get back in touch with her. Lesley told me that it was authentic, while FakeSpotters told me that it was a superfake. I told them that Lesley had previously authenticated it, and asked if they could provide details regarding why they deemed it fake (even to Lesley, if they didn't want to share with me), but they refused. No offense to FS, but I really trust Lesley's opinion, and for $45, I thought they could have been a bit more forthcoming on why their opinion differed from Lesley's.

At the end of the day, authenticating is an inexact science at best. Human beings are working off of photographs that aren't always optimal to do the job. The only real assurance anyone can get that they have an authentic designer item is to pony up the cash and buy it at the designer's boutique. Anyone looking for a bargain on designer goods is looking for trouble. Period.
