Hello everyone. I recently bought this bag from Ebay. I have attached my own photos now I'm in possession of it. Sorry if you're seeing it for the second time
I'd be really grateful for any help, sorry for so many links

My seller bought it - i think - from http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200489986949&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm570%26_nkw%3D200489986949%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1 - think the auction must have been ended earlier for an offer she may've made.

Hi,

As you can see I'm new to the forum and I'm thankful that it exists to help newbies like me.

I own a few prada wallets and bags but all of them were purchased at the prada store or neiman marcus and this is my first time trying ebay so a little help identifying the real items from the fake would be nice.

I'm the highest and only bidder for the following bag:

Item: Prada cross body messenger/camera style bag, black
Listing #: 250680905389
Seller: primadonnaluxe
Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/Prada-cross-bod...680905389?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags#ht_500wt_1154

Thanks a lot for your assistance.

The biggest favor you can do for yourself is to stick with Neiman Marcus and run screaming from eBay. Anything made of black nylon is easily faked, next to impossible to authenticate and best left purchased from reputable retailers.

Authenticating is a fine art, a job and takes endless hours to identify authentic bags these days. The crooks do their job very well, unfortunately.

it seems like my seller is willing to take back but said he's really surprised it's fake as his wife got it from a consignment store and that 'she's very familar with prada items' but that if it is, he would of course take it back. So good.

They guy seems clueless, and if possible, I'd like to tell him why it's obviously fake.. was there anything that stuck out in identifying it as fake so I can point to proof for him?

my guesses are:

outside logo does not have raised lettering
although i'm not an expert, the stitching doesn't seem as 'perfect/tight as other luxury bags i have & i would expect better.
the inside logo is square (i heard they need to be rounded?)

I'm also asking in general for my own education. need to get smarter at this, even if i stay away from ebay. If it's just an expert eye thing of having looked at a million prada bags, that's fine.. I don't need to explain anything to him, but he seemed really shocked & willing to be accommodating.

That's pretty much it. That and a ridiculously good eye for the most minute details. I've said it before: "It ain't easy, folks. If it were, everyone would be doing it."

Actually, it's a pity it's not easier. We could all put the counterfeiters out of business in a nanosecond.
