As I said in my PM, no need for apologies. I understand your point of view as a seller and it's hard not to step on any toes when you're authenticating items.

My initial reaction to the nameplate is that the letter are way too thick and dark (I guess I should have been more clear) when all the MbMJ items I've seen or owned have very defined and thin lettering. My opinion on the wallet was solely from the photos that were given and they were more than enough for me to make a decision. I do not know MbMJ item numbers nor do I think that is required for authenticating because the item numbers are only on the hang tags. And like I said in my post above, I didn't know who Pinchrosemarie was and even now that I know, that does not affect my decision in any way.

Either way, the item has ended, I still stand by my opinion with regards to this item from the reasons I posted above. I'm still interested to know where this item was purchased from just for curiosity's sake.

Well, we are just going to have to disagree on this one. You authenticate here and you obviously have a lot of information, but I stand by my statement that the item is authentic and that you are misguided in your "facts."

Again, you have the edge here in tPf and I'll respect your right to say what you feel is true. The fact that I have sold over 730 authentic Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs bags successfully, and the fact that I am privy to where they come from counts for something.

Kind regards,

This is totally adorable, but def not a MJ collections bag.. I haven't seen them at the MBMJ boutique, maybe someone has seen it at another location?

Speaking of MBMJ special item bags... the LA location had these HOT multi colored clutch/shoulder flaps that were tdf! Came in great color combinations with a little MJ logo skinny nameplate along the front. $199. HOT HOT HOT!! Loved them. Haven't seen them on ebay yet.

^^^ I think I saw the ones you're talking about at the S.F. MbyMJ store- They were done in multi-color strips of "snake-skin". Can't possibly be real snakeskin for Calif and $199 right? -- I thought seriously about it, then remembered my colorblock lemon pouch back at the hotel .......

ETA - I did NOT see the gum wrapper bags, but then again in Calif, they wouldn't be so unusual, so maybe I didn't notice.

hi guys, i really like this but hopefully it passes through your eye for detail and authenticity. thank you!!
Honestly, I'm not familiar with this because I've never seen one before.... there aren't any zipperheads or serial tag to check on this. The kisslock appears the same as the Liya bag, but other than that, I don't have much to go off of.... perhaps a better pic of the nameplate will help? And any other place the seller can find an MJ engraving. :shrugs:

Well if you insist that I am misguided somehow, then that's your opinion and standing from a seller's point of view, I understand where you are coming from. But what puzzles me is that time and time again when I have asked your where you bought this zip clutch from, you somehow seem to dodge this question?

It's not about who has an edge over anyone, it's about facts, and if you don't believe in these facts, then all I can say is good luck to you and your future transactions on eBay. I still stand firmly on the fact that your clutch is fake and I would strongly encourage you to take this clutch to a MbMJ store and check it out for yourself.

[Also what confused me in your PM was you about asking me where I am from. If I told you I lived in the US, would that make me a more reliable source of information rather than say if I lived in Brazil or China? Just to fulfill your curiosity, I am from Canada, not that it matters in any way shape or form from where I get my information from.]

ETA: So sorry for clogging up this thread, This will be my last post on this topic!

Yes!! Those were hot!! I liked both colors that I saw.... I was so close to snatching one until I saw the price tag, which didn't have a special items price. But maybe it's worth it, because it's not available at dept stores. Even better if it was real snakeskin, but you're right, it couldn't possibly be, right??? :tender:

Maybe it's just plain ole snake-skin (OK?) and not the exotic python (not OK in Calif). I mean who hasn't seen snake-skin boots around?
Dang - DH & I were really interested in the "snake-skin" wallets because we'd seen them at the table at the boutique, then hundreds of them there on the MbyMJ table for around $70.
He needs something for extra cards, and I was all hot to get something MJ for him:tup:. But he lost interest when I couldn't tell from the labels what the wallets were made of .......... He sort of blanched thinking it may be PVC :p disguised as snake (did I mention we drive a Prius too?)

And being Saturday, there were tons of shoppers and no SAs to be found.

Speak of the devil.... I liked this color combination and the purplish one as well.

The wallets were hot too... i wish they weren't such a men's style! We need to figure out whether or not it's real snakeskin. This has been escalated to priority status!! LOL

And the saga of the red bag continues........I emailed the seller asking for pics of the nameplate and the inside of the bag. The pics she sent are so bad, you can't read the nameplate (hummm). The pic of the bottom of the bag is clear and large all the others are very small, thus blurring them when you try to zoom in. I get the feeling she is avoiding showing proff of the bag, even though she states that the bag is "absolutely authentic" and to "please not email her and ask about the authenticity."

I hate when sellers do this. If she really wanted to sell the bag, she would be more cooperative! But then I guess she is waiting for some poor novice who believes her claims. Sorry, I needed to vent!
